The Kitea shook under a barrage of energy fire. "Direct hit. Minimal damage to shields," The tactical officer replied. A brilliant flash of an anti-matter explosion filled the viewscreen, "The TAS Iroquois is destroyed. The Arizona is taking heavy fire."

Becky sent out the message. She waited a moment, and shook her head, "No response from the Shadow Fleet."

"Admiral, we're being hailed. It's Emperor Stormrage," Ops announced.

Becky typed the orders out to the fleet, "The fleet has been notified. The Erebus is separating and their saucer is forming up on us. The Dock Yards are scrambling to to launch the Archimedes, and the Tuscarora. It will be another hour for the Hornet and two days for the rest."

"They couldn't have hit us at a worse time," Becky said. "After the mauling the 3rd Fleet took at Malcore, Admiral Tomarah sent the Oklahoma Strike Group to reinforce the 3rd. And the Hornet Carrier Group is down for refit. Of the 1st fleet that just leaves the Erebus Carrier Group and what is left ...

"Understood. I hope it's just faulty workmanship. It does happen you know," Becky said. "So the mission... sounds like you have quite a tale."

"Do we need to get AIB involved or should I just let the local authorities investigate?" Becky asked.

"I don't want one," Becky replied. "Last time I commanded a starship I was Borgified, not that is my reasoning. I just really don't want the responsibility." Just then the comm system crackled to life. "Kitea to Admiral Ryder. Whatever you did ma'am the Ajem'dasis didn't like it. There's a fleet of ships on an intercept course."

Becky leaned in, "That solves the command issue on the Kitea. I'll remain here for you or Captan Morris to return."
