He accepted it with a sad smile, "Thanks. I wish Mom and Dad could be here. MY Mom and Dad," he emphasized. "This is a fine future, but... well you, and everyone else aren't really the people I grew up with. Only Trinity." He shrugged, and handed the watch back, "I don't think I should wear this. It's an honor that should be reserved for the Ethan that belongs here."

"Wear the watch, give it back afterwards. Ethan Riddick didn't wear it, thought it was a silly tradition. He was lost. Marcus didn't wear it because he eloped. He died. Dad didn't wear it with Noella. Dead wife came back and divorced. Wear the watch. I may not be 'her' mom but she's my daughter in the ways that matter, just like you're Becca's Ethan in the ways that matter. Proud to have you as my son in law. Besides... after what just happened recently... I feel old enough to not feel 'weird' about my son in law and I being less than a decade younger. Not that I felt weird, but everyone always said Trinity looked too old to be my daughter. I just spent the past three decades time traveling from the past 'the long way around' as it were. But I was not going to miss this wedding for anything." Angel said and kissed his cheek. "And Ethan... don't take too long making me a grandmother huh? If the Dominion follow the timeline they did during the original Dominion War, you'll have a little shy of a year before all hell breaks loose. So plenty of time for Trini to have maternity leave and get back in the saddle. I fought a war with an infant, so it's do-able. But what isn't do-able is trying to keep up with Marines while waddling and having to use the Head every hour. You've lived with her long enough to figure out her cycle. But I am so proud of both of you. And this isn't just speaking as mom but as a fellow Flag Officer. Now I know how your mother felt when she saw me rise up through the ranks. Now go on, marry your XO..."

He hugged her, and kissed her on the cheek, "Thank you. And, if I have anything to do with it Trinity will be a desk jockey if all hell breaks loose. I can't be worrying about a division and her at the same time. Besides that was the position I hired her for. To organize, and make sure these jar heads have what they need."

[Angel Ryder]

"Sounds like a solid plan but make sure you're around too." Angel said with a smile. "I'll admit... it made me almost faint when she told me she accepted that position and rank. And listen... if for whatever reason you need a tiny bit more pull with the higher ups, call me. Marine Corps brass hate when I have to stick my nose in, mostly they hate my super perky squeaky voice. Usually they just rubber stamp it as it were so they don't have to deal with me. I wield my perkiness like a weapon if I need to."

He chuckled, "No, it'll be fine. Besides I'm not a field officer anymore. I have to remind myself that. Neither is Trinity. All right. Is it time?"

[Vin Ryder]

"Oh it's time my friend." Vin said as he walked in and nodded his head. "Your wife looks downright amazing. If she'd stop messing with her hair." he gestured behind him. "So... I've got little Vin as a ring bearer. Little Trin as a flower girl. And Lana wants to be your best man or something. Oh... and Kaine is her Maid of Honor, guess it made sense, they made the Yeoman Corps and now... neither are Yeomen."

"Was never intended to be a life long career." Angel said as she touched up her lipstick. "But it's a good experience. Leads to Captains. Colonels. Admirals... Presidential Secretary."

"Well I will say this, she never becomes President, not like Bella. Although... she does have a hell of a career." Vin said with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Yeah... hey I caught her and my nephew having sex in my conference room more than once. Although that's the only man she's ever done the freaky deaky stuff with." Angel said with a gesture of her hand.

"Yeah Ethan... don't do it in the office." Vin chuckled

[Olivia Ryder]

"I hardly think he's going to be that way." Olivia said with a shake of her head. "These two seem way more mature." she gave Vin a wink. "Trinity looks gorgeous. Hold it together until after the ceremony. You've got like an hour before the reception. Didn't realize you had so many people working for you."

"No kidding..." Angel agreed. "My 'little girl' became quite the job creator. Still, at least she kept it to just the ones she really knew. Oh and Ethan, I'm paying for the reception and if you even try to pay me back, I'll just give it back to you. Bride's family pays for that. Or you can give me a granddaughter and put it into her wedding fund."

"Let's get these two married first huh?" Olivia said and fixed a stray hair on Ethan's head. "By the way, mother sent a wedding present to you guys. And Emperor Kaikoa said he'd already sent his along. Oh... and Kalia's here. She and Trinity just had a death match. Trinity won."

"They had a nice conversation. Hugged. Now they're friends." Angel said with a roll of her eyes at Olivia. "She felt bad about being such a jealous harpy... she's going to be taking a job with the State department. Noella hired her away from the Imperium. Mother is not at all happy. Which made Kalia super happy."

"She's totally our sister." Olivia said with a grin. "Speaking of... we need to get you and Aimee together for a photo. For your mom."

[Ethan Talon]

"Lana? So, that's what she meant. Of course she can, but she's already failed. I didn't get my bachelor party, " he said with a grin. "At least I can use that while I'm getting brow beaten by Trinity about Kalia. 'Do you think she's prettier than me' or some such rubbish. I can't win with that question. If I say no, then I'm checking her out. And I can't even contemplate a yes."

[Angel Ryder]

"I think she just worried that you weren't satisfied with her, that maybe you didn't have the same things in common like you once did before your capture." Angel replied with a shrug of her shoulders. "She promised to put it behind her. She knows you're her's as she is your's."

[Lana Ryder]

"Hey... Trinity is ready... so uhm... who's doing the actual ceremony?" Lana inquired as she looked around. "Trinity just said 'don't worry about it Lana', well... everyone's seated and waiting... so kinda worried."
