It Ain't Easy...

Old enemies rear their heads, new threats make themselves known, and an old hub of craziness is the center of it all.

It had been years since she was taken by Dominus, but the old skills, the plans she made in her head for escape, but was waiting for the right moment, everything had started to fall into place. Kirby managed to keep a small cache of weapons and some protective gear hidden in a few places that no one would really look. It did help that she and Olivia were assigned to study Starbase Odin during their Section 31 days, which had a very similar design to SBPython.

"It's on... you know the place." Kirby sent through a primitive text message to some of the friends she had made. She knew that if there was an attack, it would more than likely be lead by her father in law. Even more likely when the fact that Jack was on board now. There was a part of her that wished Dominus had done it sooner. Five years she and the crew of Lothar's ship had been prisoners, most had been killed a long time ago, a few had survived. The only thing that kept her alive was that she could... pleasure Dominus and he thought it was some form of ultimate perversion that a man that looked like her mentor was using her as his sexual play thing. As if she hadn't thought about it herself or that she hadn't slept with powerful men before to get them to trust her, give her what she needed, whatever the mission was. His misogynist views would be his undoing, he thought because he used women the way he did, they would 'break'. Some maybe, but some it just stoked the fire.

As she stalked the corridors, making her way towards the cells holding Starfleet officers, she was back in her old 'Black ANGEL Alpha' mode, it was funny what a change of clothes and the familiar slap of weapons against her hip and back made. Three guards fell in seconds when she snapped the neck of one, shot another in the skull and threw a knife into the back of the third one's head. Grabbing their gear and access cards, she proceeded to open doors. Quietly ushering people out and giving them direction to meet up in the lab section that Jack was in. They'd make their stand there.

"Now if only we don't die trying..." she said to herself

Ja'larin prodded the end of her kliden in the back of her prisoner. "Come on! Move!"

"I'm not exactly excited to meet Lord Dominus," he complained as he moved slowly down the corridor of Hel. Ja'larin jabbed him in the back again with the kliden and he quieted down.

"Who the hell are you?" A feminine voice demanded.

Ja'larin jerked behind her to face the intruder. A woman with striking cinnamon hair that cascaded over her shoulders stood directly behind them. She had striking, and familiar moss green eyes. She was human. Mostly. There were soft Klingon ridges.

"Your friend is running away," she spoke again.

Ja'larin turned and with the ijulna she reached out and jerked him from his feet. He fell to the deck into an ungainly pile groaning. With a flick of her wrist her prisoner was slammed into the wall knocking him unconscious.

"You're a Jase'dasis aren't you?"

Ja'larin nodded, "I am. Ja'larin Yamour of the Jase'dasis Council, and you?"

"Lt. Olivia Sandoval. Everyone calls me Livvy. Mostly so they don't confuse me with Aunt Liv."

Jalrin looked the woman over. Yes, she could see it now: the Irish features of Rebecca Sandoval were in her. It seemed to be a powerful trait for the women in that family. Her daughter Aimee had them too, as did the matriarch. "How did you come to be here?"

"It's a long story," Livvy said. "But, it has to do with Dominus and the rifts. Come, Jack will want to see you. He and Walker are in the lab."

"Ja'Larin Yamour..." Jack said as he sensed her presence. "I had a feeling that you would be the first to arrive." he put a panel back on the wall and smiled as he closed it back up. "I have just done the near impossible, turned an old sickbay module into a fortress." walking over to her he bowed slightly. "So let me guess, my father is leading the charge? Probably in that Starfleet-esque jacket Angelica made for him right? All full of nostalgic hope and dread? Now I know why every time I asked my father about this place, he'd change the subject."

"Your father is on the Tigris. I came with Kahn, and Kinsey aboard one of Dominus' ships." She dug into her robes and pulled out a communicator, "Kahn, I made contact with Jack. He's with a very large group in an old sickbay."

Ashley leaned into Jack and whispered, "Kahn? And I think I know this K'n'zy woman. She's a bloody murdering cow from Xenex."

"Khan is my new uncle and K'n'zy... is not the murdering she-beast of death you know. Although they do have the same face and well it's a long story." Jack replied. "This Kinsey is my she-beast of death, when she's cranky. She's on our side. She only gets cranky when people take something of her's. Namely me. I suppose it was due, I've rescued her a few times, this must be how it feels."

"Well, I wouldn't want to cross her either way," Ja'larin admitted. She activated her comm unit again, "Ja'larin to Kahn. Do you read me?"

"I read you." Khan replied. "A bit busy at the moment... ever since we landed... " he grunted as he swung at one of Dominus' security forces using a rifle as a bludgeon. "My niece in law is only two bad guys behind me... squished two on the way down...."

"Oh she'll catch up soon I'm sure." Jack said into Ja'Larin's comm. "I do hope you followed my instructions."

"To the letter. Whatever it all means." Khan replied.

"Oh... you'll see soon enough." Jack said, a big grin on his face. "Kinsey m'luv... don't go down the central shaft, far too many forces there. This is what you need to look for." he telepathically sent her an image of the access way to use. "It's a tight squeeze, but you should fit, Khan... you need to knock out their internal sensors, that'll make everyone do stupid shit... we're going to fake about three hundred 'ghosts' they'll think the station is over run."

"Does he need our help?" Livvy asked. "Maybe a flanking attack? Hell, surprise usually works well too." She started looking for a weapon, picking up objects and setting them down. Nothing real useful.

Ja'larin smirked, "You are your mother's daughter. Let's see if you have your grandmother's affinity." The Jase reached into her robes and removed a second kliden and tossed it to her.

Livvy caught it deftly, and pressed the activation stud, and a malignant blue blade extended from the hilt.

"Jesus, Holy Mother, and God. What in the bloody hell is that thing?" Ashley asked.

"A kliden," Ja'larin said simply.

"Ladies..." Kirby said as she walked over to them and stowed her side arm in a holster that was just a bit too big for her hips, but she made it work as well as possible. "I think I have a few other more conventional weapons you might like." she handed Walker a phased plasma rifle. "Or if you're a bit daintier..." she handed her a smaller disruptor pistol. "Hey Ja'Larin... you're still doing crazy shite like this? Crazy isn't it? I cleared as much of this section as I could, but Dominus and his people aren't going to just sit back and let us go without a fight."

"Indeed... how many of those I sent you after did you rescue?" Jack inquired.

"Most of them, a few violently resisted the idea... can't rescue someone that really doesn't want to go. Too far gone. I want to get the hell off this bloody station and see my son. I'm still kind of amused that you're both my brother in law and my son's father in law... technically."

"Adoption... technically your son married my sister in law." Jack replied.

"Alright alright... you can figure out genealogy later..." Khan said as he cut in over the comm. "I'm pickin' up electrical energy... could be our ol' friend Dominus..."
