Sigma: Debrief

"I just don't want anyone else getting hurt, the Emergency Department is already busy enough." Tess said and closed her eyes. "Too much death today as it is... with Sigma Station, here... the Mount..." she shook her head. "My Leo... I have the most well equipped hospital I have ever set foot in and yet for all that I can't stop death like that. I haven't dedicated my life to healing people only for men like Bartyn to snuff them out so callously." she clenched her fist and took a deep breath. "I always knew I would outlive him but I thought when the end came for him, it would be in our bed, peaceful. Even happy."

[A'mira Stormborn]

"I suspect he was happy, and he never had a chance to be otherwise. It is a good death," A'mira said. "No suffering. We should all be so lucky."

[Tess Ryder]

"I suppose..." Tess said softly and closed her eyes. "I just..." she wiped the tears from her eyes. "I made my peace with him dying eventually, but... not right now. Not this way... " leaning against Selene she cocked her head slightly. "Nick's... been planning the funeral. He's always been good at getting those kinds of things planned, with or without an always present assistant at his side."

"Yeah I think he just does it for the eye candy." Clint chuckled.

"He said his favorite was his daughter and your's I might add." Tess replied. "I'll be honest, I love Bella too. Felt like I watched her grow up." she nodded her head. "I hope you tell her how proud of her you are Clint. Leo made sure to tell Nick and Natalia and Tony and Jenny that... sometimes as our kids grow up, we don't always tell them."

"I think you need a drink and a lot of security right now... Selene, A'mira... first round's on me. Bennito's?" Clint suggested.

"You mean Leo's." Tess bit her lower lip. "Nick told me... he bought Bennitos... it's going to be his new project, blues and rock club... and Intel substation apparently... so, I guess drinks are on him. First time since I was 22 that I've been single... well at least not married. Leo was the first and last man I dated."

"Go. I'll... well, as you humans say, I'll hold down the fort. If you don't mind I'll bring in some Narlin security. We have a few ways to counter Ajem, that the Alliance doesn't have."

"Whatever you feel you need." Tess said with a nod of her head. "Just be careful."

[A'mira Stormborn]

"Always," the Narlin said and bowed deeply to Tess. "An intelligence operative doesn't live long if she isn't careful." With that she scurried off to make preperations.
