[Nick Ryder]

"As soon as you can get there. I've taken over a floor, so if you need mission support, just call me." Nick said and looked at her. "And Selene... tell Clint when the Op is over. This isn't a secret I just haven't had to activate it until now. But I think you've been out of the field long enough."

[Selene Cross]

“I couldn’t agree more.” Selene replied with a grin and ended the call.

“He’s going to be pissed if you don’t tell him before you leave.” Bella said from her perch on the bed, a sketchbook resting on her knee. “You did that once, took a mission without telling him because you thought he’d say no. Only time I ever heard you guys argue and then he didn’t talk to you for at least six hours.”

“Super hearing or lip reading?” Selene inquired as she pulled the ear bud out of her ear and tossed it onto the work table.

“Neither I just know him and I know you.”

[James Cross]

"Do you need support mom?" James asked as he walked over with a well used black metal case. "I already got your work clothes and gear." he gave Bella a look as he looked back at Selene. "Hey you trained us too well mom."

It always surprised him how quickly he took to calling her 'mom', he truly loved her like she was his own mother. He also loved his sister and would do anything for her, but mom is mom and mom always took priority.

[Selene Cross]

“Thank you James but I need you to keep an eye on your sister. Both of them.” Selene said with a smirk.

“I think Jon has that covered already.” Bella said as she nodded towards Kaitlyn and Jon.

[James Cross]

"I think it keeps him from mauling Bella." James said with a wink at Bella. "He's pretty good with kids. Are you sure you don't need backup? Two years of training every day with you and dad... I'm almost at your level. I just need to grow a few more inches. And I am so not wearing heels."

[Selene Cross]

Selene laughed she loved his enthusiasm but wished he wouldn’t grow up so quickly.

“I’m sure but if things go south I’ll need someone to come bail me out.” She said with wink.

[James Cross]

"I'll tell you what mom." James put a small device in her hand. "You need me, tap this and I'll be there." he put his hand on her shoulder. "We're not only a family, we're a unit."

[Selene Cross]

“Ass kisser.” Bella as she playfully tossed a pillow at him. “She isn’t going to let Mackenzie move in.”

“I might if he makes me pancakes in bed again.”

“The device works on the same system as mine and Dad’s so you signal for short round and you’ll get Dad too.”

[James Cross]

"Well this isn't a secret mission... right?" James asked. "Although I do have it set to comm me directly, been experimenting with that programming terminal President Nick sent me for my birthday." he blushed slightly.

“No but give me at least a five minute head start before you tell your father.” Selene said and ruffled James’s hair.
