"Oh K'n'zy, flower of Calhoun... " Jack said with his best accent. "You do know I can do a better accent when I'm trying. After the what? Decade we've been together, I have learned quite a bit of it, and Jonas helped. I'm learning how to speak it like a man and not, as Kiera once teased, 'like a little old lady."

Kinsey laughed, “Good hopefully you can order Homebrew without us getting shot.”

"This is what time travel is all about, going back, learning something, getting a chance to enjoy something that passed." Jack said as they walked toward the bar. "Well, I guess this place was a bit of a shit hole even this far back. Course, those are usually the best places." he whispered. "Just look at how many people are around. I haven't seen this many of your people... ever." he snapped his fingers. "Almost forgot." he tapped behind his ear and his eye color changed to that of a typical Xenexian. "There, now I'm not a Terran... I'm just one of the people. Little device I worked up with my contacts."

“You know purple isn’t the dominant eye color. It’s like green eyes for humans. We have blue eyes too.” Kinsey rolled her eyes and laughed. “My father had blue eyes.”

[Jack Ryder]

"Well, I always sort of wanted to see how I'd look with them." Jack said with a chuckle. "And someday I need to meet your father, tell him what an amazing daughter he gave the universe. Never a dull moment."

“I’m not sure he’d care.” Kinsey said matter of fact. “You’re talking about the man who gave his only child to an abuser.”

She pushed open the bar door and stepped into the dim bar light. The air was cooler but not by much. An array of disrupters hung on the wall ready for the next disagreement.

Weapons on the walls had always seemed neat to her and Jonas when they were children. Now, it seemed like a stupid and uncivilized concept. Why couldn’t they talk out their issues or have a good old fight. Why did the night have to always end in a dual or three?

“Order is two Brews and let’s try to make it through the evening without having to use those.”

Jack glanced at the wall of disruptors and cocked his head. "That's one way out of a bar tab. No wonder why your bartenders always had some impressive weaponry under the counter." he looked around the bar. "Well, this wasn't an easy era and I would hope it wasn't an easy decision for him, speaking as a father. Grandfather even."

[Cece Ryder]

A slim brunette passed through the crowd with their drinks and set them in front of the couple. "They're on the house." she said with a wink. "Shh... and don't ask where or when I came from." she put her finger to her lips. "But keep your eyes open. Oh and you forgot to compensate for the Pit's chronal drift. But then again, that old pod knows when to go, because it always takes you were you need to go. Enjoy the drinks and the show." Cece said as she disappeared into the crowded bar.

"Okay that was bloody confusing and cryptic. Must get it from your side of the family luv." Jack teased. "Wonder what she... meant..." he said and saw a brunette enter the bar and get into an angry conversation with a couple of traders who were reaching for weapons on the wall, but a stern glare and a gesture of her hand, the weapons they reached for turned into balls of metal that she hovered dangerously close to their heads. "Grozit... who is THAT?"

Kinsey shook her head and her mouth fell open. Not at the display of power that was so similar to hers but to the man standing behind her.

“You screwed up.” Kinsey said still starring at the man. “This isn’t 75 years ago.”

Jack's jaw dropped as well. "Grozit... that's your father... but who is that woman? That's not your's and Kiera's mother..."
