Operation: Sigma

[James Cross]

"Will do mom." James said and kissed her cheek. "I know it's butt kissing but you are still the coolest mom ever. Mackenzie thinks her mom's cooler, but seriously... who tops you? You're the Black Widow!" he gave her a thumb's up. "Don't literally knock 'em dead out there."

[Selene Cross]

“Only if they deserve it.” Selene said with smirk. “Keep an eye on things while I’m out. I trust you remember the code to the weapons locker and how to use them.”

[James Cross]

"Of course. And the mounted rifle is only to be used in dire emergencies." James replied. "I also packed your face change mask, just in case."

[Selene Cross]

“I’ll be back in a few days.” Selene told him as she pressed a button hidden in the case. It sent a signal to the private shuttle Jack and Kinsey had given them as a wedding gift years ago. By the time she reached the top of the stairs Ronnie would have the shuttle fired up and the roof retracted ready for take off.

A part of her hoped Bella was wrong she didn’t want Clint angry with her. As Director he needed to keep his distance from this op and she really wanted to go. She’d been itching for a mission for awhile.

“You know Clint is not going to be happy when he finds out you’re leaving him behind.” Rommie said matter of fact as she appeared in front of Selene in the door way of the shuttle.

“Are you going to tell on me?” Selene inquires as she sat her case on a set and slipped into the pilots chair.

“I’ll wait to we at least clear the atmosphere.”

“How considerate of you.” Selene said dryly. “Set course for Sigma Station.”

“Course laid in Agent Cross and welcome back. I was starting to get dusty.”

[Nick Ryder]

Nick glanced at the monitor he set up for Selene and slipped a pair of glasses on as he went between her mission monitor and the rest of the teams handling security around the Capitol City and the planet itself.

"Black Widow... read you en route." Nick said with a slight smile. "I have a feeling Talon's Marines may join you as back up, but I can call them off if it looks like this is just a wild goose chase and the Sigma crew are just slacking, in which case, your cover is Nina Carmichael from Alliance Naval HR and you're there to fire their asses."

[Selene Cross]

“Copy that.” Selene replied over the comm.

[Nick Ryder]

"Keep an open comm." Nick said as he reclined slightly in his chair. "Been a while since you've been on an Op. How's it feel? Wish it didn't take my dad's death to get you back in the field."

[Selene Cross]

“First solo mission in a long time.” Selene said rolling her eyes at Rommie’s expression. “It’s weird not having Clint here but I’ll make do.”

[Nick Ryder]

Nick chuckled. "I know the feeling. Partners in the field and partners at home..." he nodded his head. "You'll do fine, I wouldn't have made you one of my main agents. Now when this is over... I need to tell Alice that we're going to be moving. New base is going to be under this property we've got downtown in the Capitol. Was going to set up a small consulting firm but... I think dad's old blues club idea... I'm doing it. Blues and Rock club... I know she likes the Compound, it's been our home but... I feel like I'm too accessible to Jon and Bella and Malcolm, it's their government. Not mine. But you can't put an old spy boss down. So hey... make it back in time for the wake... or I send your son to pull you out. Preteen kids are excellent agent extractors. Ask Liv. Or Angel. You and James have jobs at the club."

Selene laughed, “He’d enjoy it too. I’ll signal you when we reach our destination. Black Widow out.”
