"That was nice of you." Jonas said and gave her a look. "Not really a good idea to go to his cell but I'm sure you had your reason." he sighed. "So, given how you look... he told you nothing good or at least useful?"

“You would be correct.” Solara said with a frown. “I thought I had an angle but apparently I was wrong.”

"Some people just can't be bargained with." Jonas sighed. "It sucks but sometimes, there's nothing they want other their own agenda, their own plans. Even if it mean they don't get it or they end up dying as a result. Nihilism... nothing and no one really matter. Including themselves."

[Solara]

“Wow big word.” Solara teased. “He just has his own plan I guess. I was hoping he would at least tell me where Dominus was. He doesn’t have any loyalty to him.”

"Seems to be his trait... he rules by fear or by bribery." Jonas said as he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. "Kinda reverse of our Nick Ryder, who pretty much rules by compensation and loyalty. I had people that had me do stuff, never got compensated, not what it was really worth. Just that it was done. Hell, the old man still sends me stuff if I even mention it." he gestured to the computer console. "That was from him when I mentioned Jon's old one was getting kind of buggy and slow when I'd connect to the Compound system. I think even if I gave my resignation, he'd probably put me on the payroll somewhere just because I'm Kinsey's best friend and old man Ryder loves his daughter in law." he sighed and walked over to her. "So real talk Solara... it's been months, ever figure out what you really want?"

[Solara]

“I thought we were having a real talk.” She said with a smirk. “What do you mean?”

"Well, we've been pretty much just taking each day as it comes, I go to work, you stay here... I come home... we get drunk, have sex, look out the window... repeat... this has been the first time in a while that you've actually been asked to do anything." Jonas said and shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not exactly Bella's biggest fan right now."

“What’s wrong with having sex and looking out the window? Both are enjoyable tasks.” Solara said kissing him on the lips. “But you’re being serious even if you’re beating around the bush. I liked working for Price once but he has Kaine now. They don’t need me and I’m not working for my sister. If you want to keep working there It’s fine. If you want to run away somewhere I’ll go with you. I don’t really care.”

"Well Price keeps wishing you were back but he's giving you space. Everyone's giving us space. Kinda getting sick of it. I dunno... maybe actually make 'us' a bit more official. Go off somewhere, not look back. Kick some ass if we have to?" Jonas replied.

“More official?” Solara inquired with a raised eyebrow.
