“Since when do we give a shit what they think?” Kinsey said firmly. “I don’t know why you weren’t around when I was a child. I know...he didn’t love Desirae not like he loves you. Don’t deny it I’ve saw how he looks at you Jack looks at me the same way. I know she resented me and I sure it gave her pleasure when....I suspected she loved Ker’ken.”

Tali nodded her head. "That sounds like my life too... so wait... she loved the man you were supposed to be with and yet she took Korba from me? What a bitch." she poured more brew for Kinsey and for herself and took a sip. "Makes me want to screw the timeline and fight to keep you for myself, although I'll be honest... I'm a terrible watcher of children. Last two kids I watched... one I dropped, broke his arm. The other one... " she winced. "Nearly got lost in a cave. Now... if I met you as a teenager or adult... where you're big enough and smart enough to avoid that... " closing her eyes she took a sip and laughed. "So you have three kids and two adopted? You are certainly a better parent than I. Suppose having a mate that actually sticks around helps. He seems loyal and not because he just wants to fuck you more than once."

“I thought I would be terrible at it too but once you hold them...” Kinsey smiled fondly. “When I had the twins Jack and I were prisoners. Everyday I worried someone would take them away but that time together I wouldn’t trade it. I don’t think I would have survived it without them.”

[Tali’Zorha]

"Helps to have a mate like that. Mind if I borrow him?" Tali teased. "So you and this Jack, sounds like you've been through a lot together. Even after children, he still looks at you with desire. Not that I'm surprised." she chuckled and just looked at Kinsey. "You must have endured quite a lot, but it seems to have made you a stronger person for it. You have such fire in your eyes. Voice of an angel, powers of a devil. Do they accept your abilities where you come from? Or do they call you a desert witch too?"

Kinsey thought about it for a moment weighing recent events.

“Jack accepts it he has his own power we recently discovered. As for everyone else...I destroyed three starships with my mind they have a right to be weary of me. It frightens me this power and I don’t know where it came from. No one else has it except you.”

"It is scary." Tali agreed. "I leveled part of a mountain, no one knew it was me, but there were once three peaks where there's only two now. Part of the reason I moved to the desert, I could practice with fewer... incidents." she winced. "I crushed a speeder... rider and all, into a small ball. In my defense he WAS trying to rape a friend of mine and then tried to escape." she took another swig of her drink and then another. "Three starships? Wow... so your son's family don't feel threatened or worried you're going to hurt him?"

Jack walked down the stairs, shirtless as Kinsey had taken his, and yawned. "Bloody hell..." he muttered when he saw Kinsey and Tali talking and sharing a bottle. "I only caught the last bit, but no they are not threatened. M'father has some scary powers too."

Tali looked up from her glass and raised an eyebrow and looked at Kinsey. "His father has powers too?"

"Dad can create fireballs... and so can my step mum. My mum is a Siofran, they're telepathic and psionic, although I've been slowly getting a little more telekinetic as well." Jack said as he sat next to Kinsey and gave her a side eye. "I take it I need to find myself another shirt..."

"Oh let her enjoy the view Jack." Tali said with a wink. "I know I am. The pebble doesn't fall far from the formation."

Kinsey laughed as she kissed his cheek.

“She knows...I tried to be careful not to reveal to much of the future.” Kinsey told him. “We actually have a lot in common. I warned her you might want samples.”

[Tali’Zorha]

"I normally hate when people try to take my blood or hair or whatever but... I think I can trust you. She clearly does." Tali said with a nod of her head. "Maybe you can figure out how we can do what we do. I was always told it was a curse, because I was a wicked, evil person. Others told me it's because I'm meant to punish people. Others think I'm a witch. Korba... he is the only one that loved me for what I am. Even though I fear someday we're not going to be together... and this confirms some of it. The how and why... that's still a mystery... but I do hope it isn't my death that causes that. Honestly I want off this planet... but I barely have enough to keep myself in something more than rags and bed sheets and properly alcohol'd to numb the dark thoughts in my head."

Tali looked at Kinsey and gave her a sad smile. "I really want to get to know you. I think we could make an incredible team. Kind of gives me a bit of hope for the future, at least I put you into it. Three kids... never saw that happening." she put her hand on Kinsey's. "Maybe the universe wanted us to meet. I'll be honest, I have seen so many weird things... but once you see things in the Pit... it's so hard not to want to see more, even if it scares the hezmana out of you."
