"Right... so, you don't think of yourself as a god, just others. Gotcha," Rebecca teased winking at Nick.

"When someone indirectly calls you a Goddess, you say 'thank you'." Angel said with a laugh. "It's not as much fun as people think though. Old mission waaaaay back when I was still on the Mata Hari, pre-warp culture on the edges of a planet that WAS warp capable, but there was this little pocket that wasn't. Never saw a shuttle, never saw anyone like us. We had no idea they were even there. The planetary government barely even knew they existed, anyway... the girls and I had decided we'd hang out on their beach. Well, one of them saw me use my phaser to light a fire and I used an early prototype of my armor to fly up and grab some fruit a tree and one of them thought I was their goddess. They would not leave me alone once the word spread, five thousand four foot tall green and purple people bowing before me... " she rolled her eyes. "And my fucking Captain... he told me since they were pre-warp to let them believe it, otherwise it would contaminate their culture. Which apparently lived under this island for over three thousand years, they only popped out to hunt and worship. There is a nude cave painting of me still there. I told the crew if they breathed a word of it, I'd sic mother on them."

"That was a good threat back then." Nick agreed.

"Oh I know... even in S31... first time I really thought about that in years. But yeah... it's not fun being a deity." Angel said with a laugh.

"Or a religious icon for that matter," Rebecca said with an uncomfortable frown. Seeing confusion on Kat's face Rebecca smiled, "Our first contact with the Narlins lined up with one of their ancient prophecies. Nari'dor or some such," she said with a dismissive wave of a hand. "The problem is, I can't exactly say they were wrong. We did held bring about an end to their civil war, and they are a pretty powerful member of this Alliance, and doing well for themselves. And Angel, if you had been under my command you'd have been cleaning latrines for a month."

[Angel Ryder]

"Hey it wasn't my fault!" Angel chuckled lightly. "Jena's old girlfriend suggested killing the ones that saw us." she rolled her eyes. "But yeah... and hey your experience with the Narlins came in handy. Speaking of... those kids you found. Are they really Magus' children?"

[Kat Donovan]

"Oh aye," Kat said. "All ye need to do is take one good look at the bairns, and you'd ken it well enough." She shrugged, "An, I was there when the wee lad was..." She hesitated and swallowed. "Aye well, I was there. Lady Bellatrix wanted a witness to the laddie's death. That was after she ordered me to kill the wee lass."

[Nick Ryder]

"Yet another thing they're going to answer for." Nick said with a nod of his head. "Stormtalon was a friend. Makes me sick what they did to him."

[Kat Donovan]

Kat frowned, "He dinnae suffer." With a defeated look she sighed. He had suffered, just his scars hadn't been visible. The loss of his wife and kids were more than he could bear. Kat hung her head feeling guilty. She told herself she couldn't tell him of the children. It was a secret she had to keep. She couldn't risk letting Megus know, and letting it slip. But, she knew he'd never reveal their location in a statsis chamber in the Vindicator's morgue. "It's me fault," she said softly looking at her feet. "I killed him just as surely if I ran my kliden through his heart. I ken it now. I am a coward."

[Nick Ryder]

"The fact that you have remorse... tells me that you're not the monster you think you are. If you did all that and didn't have even a twinge of regret, then yeah... I'd probably be keeping a weapon handy around you and would certainly not want you anywhere near those kids. But you have a good heart, perhaps a better heart than you realize. Our version of you died saving my granddaughter and a host of other children who were about to be sold into slavery and who knows what else." Nick explained. "Like the man once said, past is prologue."

[Kat Donovan]

"Oh aye?" She said with a raised eyebrow. Kat sighed, "Saving a few bairns doesna redeem you. I ken well enough that I will never be square with the house. And don't ye forget that. If my counterpart was an Ajem she did some foul things."

"Oh of course, but there is a point where we either hold onto what you and she did or we move forward and focus on what you CAN be." Angel said. "It may be overly naive but it's hopeful. And we can always use allies. Besides... I love the accent."
