Homecoming

After the deaths of so many, it is time to rally and fight back. The Alliance is put through it's greatest test since it's founding, but can it retain its soul and the ideals they fought so long and hard to uphold? Will the darkness overtake the light? Will the Alpha and Beta Quadrants be the same when the dust settles?

"Then I'll take you with me when I climb it." Trinity said with a smile. "So, we'll get you kids set up and then I'm going to say hi to my sister in law and see her kids."

Kat glanced at Trinity with a raised eyebrow, "Bloody hell! Rebecca Sandoval had not one but two kids? She must be nothing like my version."

"She had Aimee years ago when she was younger, her father was killed in a shuttle accident, really affected Becca." Trinity replied. "Ethan, is only about three four years old. Remember, I come from a new altered future timeline. So did my Ethan." she smiled slightly. "Becca also adopted a little Xenexian girl, a bit older than Ethan, but cute as a button."

"It's a bonnie wee reality ye got here lass," Kat said with satisfaction. "A a fine planet to be sure. I was thinking about the bairns. There's a Narlin settlement in Cascadia. Narlus I think. They should be with their own people. We needed say who they are."

"My main concern is that they could be targets before they're able to really defend themselves." Trinity said as she glanced at the kids. "I'll need to talk to some of the Narlins that were still loyal to Stormtalon and Starbreeze, this new administration... from the little I saw, I'm not entirely sure about them. They could see these two as a threat to their power. Which... rightly so." she sighed and shook her head. "I can still see the fear in Lady Stormtalon's eyes when they dragged her off to be... and then the same guards looked at me like I was next on the menu. Still have to thank you for some of your trainings, only thing that really got me through some of the worst of it. Way I see it, we're sisters Kat. Anyone messes with you, they mess with me. "

After a short drive, they arrived at the cabin, it was a little "rustic" the paint was peeling a little on the outside and the wood was worn on the steps of the porch, there were a couple of trucks with tarps over them parked off to the side and the grass was a little over grown.

"I'll have the guys come around to clean things up later today, but I think you'll like it. Furniture is from the old Outpost Byron when they were upgrading the Outpost to the Starbase, they put a bunch of the old furnishings in storage units that I picked up for a song." Trinity explained as she opened the door. "There's a comfortable living room with a fireplace, I didn't want to put it in, but the boys insisted. I think because they were too macho to actually turn on the heat." she gestured to a wall control panel that had a thin layer of dust. "Kitchen is small but serviceable and there are a couple of food replicators, should still be dishes and glasses in the cabinets." she pointed to the hallway, "Master bedroom is on the main floor, but there are three more upstairs with bunk beds. Not that you'll really need them. Sonic and regular water shower and tubs in both bathrooms. There's an outhouse out back. I put it in when I caught the boys peeing on one of the cherry trees. Oh and there are fruit trees outside too." she reached into her purse and handed her a padd. "True to my word, here's everything you'll need to live peacefully here. Identity cards, a banking account with a little mad money, weapon licensing so you can carry whatever sidearm you'll need besides your kilden. And... the lease so no one questions why you're here. It's a strip of latinum a year which I paid for the next ten. It's a fresh start Kat. Whatever you want to do or not do, that's entirely on you. Like I said. We're sisters now."

"I dinae ken what ta say lass. I never had me own place." She sighed, "It's a bonnie wee place to be sure. These mountains are no like Scotland, but it's more like home than any place I've been in a long time."

She drew her kliden and stared down at it in her hand, "I canae carry this?" Decision crossed her face, and with a twist the kliden broke apart into it's base components. She went to the matter recycler and set the peices on the pad. Before pressing the button she plucked something from the pile, and with that her kliden was gone.

Returning to Trinity Kat handed her a small red crystal. "When I earned that crystal... my first kliden crystal it was the happiest day of me life. I think it's time to move on aye? A weak token of me appreciation lass. Until now, that wee crystal was my most prized possession."

"I'll find a good place for this." Trinity said and held it in her hand and reached into her purse and put it into a small box. "In the meantime... there's enough weapons in the replicator database. And I've got you an account with mom's clothing shops. So you don't have to live with just replicated or old stuff in the storage bins. Course, some of those old 'TerraAlphaFormers' shirts are comfortable as anything. Left overs from the Terra Forming team." she sighed and looked around. "I'd keep this away from the little ones." she reached into a box and pulled out a dusty bottle of Scotch Whisky. "There's cases of this. I keep it hidden here otherwise Dougal will drink it all."

"Dougal? That's a Highlander name?" Kat asked with a raised eyebrow. "Is there many Highlanders on Terra Alpha?"

"Oh I've got a bunch of them under my command." Trinity nodded her head. "Although Maori and other Islanders and the Tribes are also a pretty big part of our unit. We're diverse. It's a weird battle when you hear the Maori and islanders doing a Haka, then you hear Native American Tribal war chants and drumming, and then there are bagpipes... it's like... did your reality have a band called the White Stripes? There's a piece they did called 'Battle Cry', entirely sounds like one of our mock battles with all the various units coming together."

Trinity went over to the console and loaded it up and let it play over the speakers in the living room.

"Aye well, it isn't a proper army without Highlanders in it, and the pipes are integral to that ye ken. There was a piper at the Somme, an later on Normandy."
