Wherever You Go, There You Are

Kiera didn’t hesitate as she went to Jack and threw her arms around him. She hugged him tightly not wanting to let go. Kinsey had been right know they didn’t share a mother didn’t really matter. There was a time when it might have but now after everything they had been through it didn’t.

“I’m sorry I broke my promise but I’m also not sorry. I love Zeke and we talked a long time about this and now is the right time.”

"That's what matters, that you were ready." Jack said and kissed her forehead. "So it seems like we're going to have a lot more to celebrate when we get back to Terra Alpha, think Xenex can spare you?" he whispered. "Dad keeps asking about you and Ally is going to want to take you shopping."

"I'm looking forward to meeting this family... the ones i've met in other realities... horrible. Jackson and Julie Lei... and Dominus... " she shuddered. "And Kiera... congratulations. How far along are you anyway? You still look so tiny."

Zeke cocked his head to Tali. "I doubt she'll show that much, my Kiera didn't get that big, even though she thought she was. Had a boy we named Joseph. We also put a stop to child marriage, at least... not forced."

"That's good. I do hope the old caste system is gone." Tali said hopefully.

"Oh yeah... the old timers try but we quash it, we're trying to build a modern, evolved Xenex. Considering when we finally moved back here, there were only a few million Xenexians. We still barely have enough to repopulate the whole planet, but we're getting there. At least we Jack's research helped us with making it easier for other races to mix... and it seems the longer you spend on Xenex, the more compatible you get." Zeke replied.

"Just make it a planet we can all be proud of. i've seen too many versions of it and they all seem... backward." Tali said with a sigh. "Once upon a time, neither of you would have been allowed to marry your mates, let alone have children by them. Not if they weren't from the 'right' clan."

"Nothing could have kept Zeke and I a part." Keira said matter of fact. "If it hadn't been for Kinsey's death we never would have left Terra Alpha. Muad'dib and I have turned Xenex around. He has an interesting insight into the future. Some say he can see it but I'm not sure. I think he's just perceptive though he did knew I was pregnant before I did. Anyway we both agreed if Xenex was to survive we needed to move forward. No more infighting, no more forced marriages, and no more multiple wives. The age of majority is still 13 though."

[Tali’Zorha]

"Makes sense." Tali said and nodded her head in agreement. "Wait... did you say Muad'dib? Huh... he actually made good on his boasts. Always had plans to change things, but I never thought he'd actually do it. Just used it as a line to get impressionable girls into his tent. Tell me one thing... coffee shops on Xenex yet? In one reality Ferengi took over the planet and put these little coffee places nearly everywhere. Although Xenexian coffee cultivated in the caves of Sel'Yi'mik is far far stronger than anything Terrans or Klingons have brewed. Pity the Brethren leveled that cavern system."

''There might be a way to revive it." Kinsey said with a smirk as she glanced at Jack. Already calculating the revenue from a coffee and a way to put Jack's pod to a use that didn't make her head hurt.

[Tali’Zorha]

"Oh really? I haven't had it in years... " Tali looked at Kinsey and chuckled. "What was that look?"

"My wife is plotting." Jack said proudly. "I love that look. I married her because of that look."

"That look makes people nervous I'm sure." Tali chuckled lightly.

"Oh yeah, all the time." Zeke said in agreement. "She's the 'crazy lady'. Always was the 'cool aunt'."

"I have been dreaming of this for what feels like centuries." Tali said as she settled into a jump seat. "You've been quiet Noella."

"Just figuring you out that's all. Starting to see a lot of where K'n'zy came from in you. You move like her, like a cat." Noella said and gave Kinsey a half smile. "You two always moved differently."

"I'm still confused by what happened and why the Pit acted like it did, but there had to have been a reason." Tali mused. "I always suspected that's what gave many of us our telepathic and telekinetic ability."

“I always wondered where Kinsey’s abilities came from.” Kiera said. “I assumed it had something to do with the new body but maybe it was always there. K’n’zy Just opened the door.”

[Tali’Zorha]

"New body?" Tali raised an eyebrow. "Well... there was a working theory that our ancestors were highly telepathic and telekinetic... protectors, but they were few and far between."

[Kinsey Calhoun]

"There aren't many like us anyway." Kinsey said with a slight shrug.

[Tali’Zorha]

"Fewer still I'm sure, but I do wonder if Maud'dib has some of it in him." Tali said and sighed. "I feel like there is going to be a lot of catching up to do. And... I just realized... I have no real home or money or job... I do hope you have a guest room daughter..."
