"The wargames? I already have. They weren't ready, and the other division commander was making excuses, so I just called the whole damn thing off. As far as Trinity goes, she doesn't need any help from the 82nd. If the Erebus is there she has plenty of help. If I'm not mistaken 2nd Batallion, 101st is assigned to it as the Marine attachment anyway. As for for me... well, I haven't seen my better half in over six months. I'm going, and I know just who to call."


He went to his desktop computer and entered commands into the device. A young Ensign appeared on the other line. "Yes?" He said said absently.

"I need to speek with Admiral Ryder," Ethan said mildly annoyed with the ensign's indifference.

"She's not here, and has given us specific orders not to disturb her."

"In case you slept through that class in the Academy I outrank you. I suggest you put her on the line, or I'll have you brought up on charges."

That snapped him out of whatever it was that held his attention, and he finally looked at who was staring at him from his screen. "Of course general. Right away. Sorry." Ethan only nodded as the comm line was rerouted.

[Angel Ryder]

"Ethan Michael Talon... what part of do not disturb wasn't clear?" Angel said as she appeared on the comm in just her bikini top. "Ensign Smith looked like the world was ending. I barely got the top of this thing tied before he broke in on my viewer in my sewing room." she closed up her sewing kit and crossed her arms. "You're starting to make what I'm deciding on really easy son in law." she sighed. "I take it this about Trinity?"

He gave her a confused look, but chose not to ask what that decision might be. He'd learned long ago that the Ryder women liked to disclose things on their own terms.... or maybe it was just women in general. He'd heard the "Well, if you don't know, I ain't telling you" more than once.

Clearing his throat, he stood slightly straighter. After all she was a superior officer, "It is ma'am. I was hoping I could catch a ride. I assume you would want to go."

[Angel Ryder]

"I wasn't really planning on it." Angel replied. "Hence the swimsuit..." she sighed and pulled off her glasses. "I've been keeping an eye on little you and Trinity. By the way, in your memory did you used to have a 'thing' with borrowing my yarn and knitting needles to make tethered 'darts'? I've got three holes in the wall that neither of you are copping to."

"Um... not that I recall," he said truthfully.

[Angel Ryder]

"I see..." Angel gave him a smirk and sighed. "So... I take it you want to warp to wherever Trinity is in a hurry?" she picked up a piece of jewelry she was working on and looked at him. "Tell you what... the USS Quill that the Imperium gave us because they think it's an ugly ass ship... and it IS an ugly ass ship, is parked near the Gamma Satellite for repainting. It's just an old Oberth Saucer with a warp drive, I think it looks like a flying hockey puck, but a half dozen MIKI holo balls and she'll do for a meet up. Now... it's yours under three conditions. One. You bring it back in one piece or at least with only carbon scoring. Two. You and Trinity come back here. Three. You two get busy on getting me a grandchild so we have an excuse to keep her on the planet."

Ethan raised an eyebrow, "One: it's a peice of junk. I'd rather fly into battle in a cardboard box. No, there won't be any fighting. That's what the Erebus is for. Two: I don't know where else we'd go. Risa? Not really my style. And thee: that one I can't promise. We were already working on kids before she was kidnapped."

Angel sighed. "You really want me to take Kitea and you to her don't you?" she chuckled and stood up. "Fine... be ready in fifteen."

[Ethan Talon]

"That is not what I said," Ethan said a tinge of annoyance in his voice. "I need a ship. I don't care what it is. My shuttle doesn't have transwarp drive." And, I don't need you putting words in my mouth, he thought to himself.

[Angel Ryder]

"Well, then take my shuttle." Angel said and sighed heavily. "Look, I may as well tell you... I'm going to be taking some extended leave. My head has not been in the game and I've been snapping heads off more than I ever have. I have enough to keep me busy and Nathan and Becky will do just fine without me on the KItea and Admiral Parros can handle the 414th for a little while, been curious to see what he's capable of. But I'm going to go dark side if I don't change something."
