Matchsticks

After the deaths of so many, it is time to rally and fight back. The Alliance is put through it's greatest test since it's founding, but can it retain its soul and the ideals they fought so long and hard to uphold? Will the darkness overtake the light? Will the Alpha and Beta Quadrants be the same when the dust settles?

"Hey I like Becky, totally not you at that age, but it does make wonder what Aimee would have been like had you kept her." Nick sighed and shook his head. "Everything happens for a reason I suppose. I'm sure in some reality we're still in the Federation, Starfleet didn't corrupt and fall... and I was never a President. Just an aging Admiral that married his third wife and probably would have retired at least a few years ago." he shrugged his shoulders. "That was always sort of my plan when I convinced Angel and Aurore to take over Byron Outpost. I was going to get it upgraded to a Starbase, help get this planet at least livable and then retire. Angel would take my place in the Fleet. Olivia and Kirby would get my place in Section 31. Jack I was going to encourage to get more involved in AlphaTek and Marcus I was going to make it very attractive for him to want to stay with his son." he looked at Becca. "I was going to start a new advanced technology... thing. My hope would have been you'd have joined me and we'd build ships or whatever. Away from bureaucracy. But. All that got shattered with everything that had happened with Julie and Terra Pax and the Imperium and then the rifts... "

"What's the old saying? Man plans and God laughs. All not is lost. We are still pretty young. Hell that whole Pythus Sector time thing totally mucked up our timeline. I say we got an extra 60 years out of the deal."
