We Can Ask Nicely Or...

Kinsey's Office - Presidential Compound
Jack was rocking back on Kinsey's chair behind her desk, he had already managed to set up a scheduled communication with the Andorians in an attempt to get them to share what they found about the rifts and possibly a way to navigate or manipulate them like Dominus. That was one thing he had been unsuccessful with figuring out while he was a prisoner of Dominus months ago and the casual way they managed to slip between realities and find 'like minded' alternates always frustrated him. When Kinsey had telepathically contacted him, he jumped at the chance, plus being on the Science Council he did have some influence.
"You're going to break her chair." Daisy said as she was going through reports.
"I am not, it's sturdy." Jack said as he sipped his tea and rocked back and forth.
"She reclines back and falls off, I'm kicking your butt." Daisy replied casually. "It's taken months to get her back here, with you two off on Xenex making booze. And I've been sitting in that chair and I'm telling you the hinge is weird." she looked up from her padds and looked at Jack. "So you think the combination of the two of you is going to make the Andorians share what they have?"
"That's the hope. Good cop, bad cop. I love watching her be 'bad cop'. That angelic voice telling someone if they don't listen to her, she's going to do something incredibly violent and nasty and utterly fucked up." Jack said with a laugh. "I have no idea where she got the rep she's got, I've worked with far crazier, but perhaps because she's a 'wild Xenexian woman' they just instantly assume."
"Kinda why I like her." Daisy agreed. "She doesn't take crap but she's fair."
"You've been the only assistant she's ever kept around this long, says something." Jack said as he took another sip of tea and glanced at the chrono. "Wonder what's taking her, unless Jon is talking her ear off. I thought my father was bad sometimes."
"Oh he is, I just said 'Good morning Mr. Ryder, how are you?' and we talked in the hallway for about a half hour and would have gone longer if I didn't have a page come through." Daisy rolled her eyes. "How does he get as much done as he does when he's like that?"
"He multi-tasks. Part of him is entirely engaged in conversation, while a part of him is working on something else, then it'll hit him like a bolt and after he's done distracting himself, he'll dive into it and come out with something. I'm similar, but when I'm working on a project I don't like to chatter like he does. Drove Julie insane sometimes." Jack chuckled and shook his head. "Now Alice... she finds a way to turn the conversation to his project and then they work on it together so it's finished twice as fast and then they... get up to whatever it is they get up to when they finish a project."
"Oh, like you and Kinsey after hours." Daisy teased. "I do have a UV light and I know full well what you two get up to in here, see that little circle? That disinfects the office so it doesn't look like a Jackson Pollack. Still intensely jealous of you two. I have never had a boyfriend that wanted to do it at work."
