Innocence

[Inara]

“Two days but I confirmed it after my meeting this morning.” Inara said with a smile. “It’s still new and the blouse was a gift from a former client.”

[Eli Mathers]

"Okay that's good... I mean a few days ago we were a bit... how did we call it... Xenexian... in our love making. That blouse, my pants..." Eli chuckled and held her close. "You know... even with this thing with Dominus... I feel almost hopeful now. Like, we wouldn't be having a kid if this was the end of all things... like a little bit of Thessia will still live on. Course you DO know Ting Zi Lang told me that she wanted to offer you a job as an escort. You are a thousand times classier than her girls. If you can even call some of them girls. More plastic than anything in them."

[Inara]

“Well...I’m retired.” Inara grinned. “And they couldn’t afford me.”

[Eli Mathers]

"I know... and you're just getting more expensive but entirely worth it. Besides, maybe when Jon runs for re-election, I might consider starting a private security agency or I just consider myself the Thessian security detail. Maybe a bigger place closer to schools. This is yuppie central here, more coffee houses and tech shops than places to take a small child." Eli said as he looked out the window. "Although I'm still saying we should stay in a condo, I like having a view. Never really had this growing up and even when I worked at the Compound, just stayed in the apartments most of the time or on Byron, I like waking up and showing Capitol City my ass."

[Inara]

“It is a beautiful view. Nothing compared to home but still beautiful.” Inara said looking out the window at the city lights.

[Jack Ryder]

Jack knocked on Eli and Inara's door, having just arrived back on Terra Alpha. Tali was intrigued by visiting someone that had been a part of her daughter's life, although in a couple of realities she lived in, there was an Inara.

"We won't take long..." Jack reassured his wife and mother in law. "We've been putting off seeing them for a while now and something told me that today was a good day to visit..."

"As long as she's not like the Inara that married powerful men and killed them in their sleep. I didn't quite mind when she did that to a Tiberius I knew." Tali said and gave Kinsey a smirk. "Your mate is shockingly supportive. Not many would be friends with their wife's ex..." she whispered.

"I can still hear you." Jack cleared his throat. "This isn't the desert with howling winds, it's a Yuppie condo."

"YOU GUYS CAN COME IN." Eli called out. "Sheesh... speak of the Calhoun Ryders... they appear."

[Inara]

“With perhaps not the best of timing.” Inara said as she kissed Eli. “I’ll put some tea on.”

[Jack Ryder]

Eli kissed her again and smiled. "Yeah... although I don't mind sharing the news with them." he said as he opened the door. "Jack, Kinsey and... Tali'zorha?"

"You read the briefing." Jack said with a smile.

"Of course I did, you're bringing back a woman that is Kinsey's mother and yet not the woman we thought was Kinsey's mother originally... of course I'm going to keep an eye on it. Because she's probably going to be going through my security and like a Calhoun... probably circumventing it." Eli said and gave Kinsey a look.

"He's cute... and feisty." Tali commented and walked over to Inara. "In every reality I've been in, you have always been stunning. Tali'Zorha of Calhoun. Kinsey's birth mother. I suppose I have you to thank for helping her when she was younger?"

[Inara]

“It’s an honor Tali’Zorha.” Inara said kindly with a slight bow. “May I interest you in some tea or if you prefer we have wine.”

[Tali’Zorha]

"Tea is wonderful... I'm trying to cut back a little on the homebrew... " Tali replied and hummed. "You should enjoy that bottle, seems you have something to celebrate." she gave her a once over. "Or two."
