Temp Fix

[Liara]

Selene followed him down the cable and then jumped onto the 4th sub floor.

“He doesn’t exactly need anything to kill us.” Selene reminded him.

[Clint Cross]

"Well, if he can basically shoot something at something explosive we're all dust." Clint replied. "But I am aware that he doesn't need a weapon to kill us. I've seen Noonian crush a man's skull with his bare hands."

[Liara]

“My father is from one his own preservation so maybe one less thing to worry about.” Selene said with a shrug and took Clint’s hand. “Hey...I know you know I just...don’t die.”

[Clint Cross]

"Same to you." Clint replied and pulled out his tricorder and linked them to his glasses as he looked around the engineering section. There were two bodies of security guards on the floor, their necks snapped completely around. "Poor guys... they just started too." he muttered and winced. "Oh shit... he's got explosive charges set around the Core."

"Then we must act quickly." Noonian replied as he beamed in behind Clint. "Selene... take this, emergency transporter."

[Liara]

“You have one for Clint?” Selene inquired as she took the device.

[Clint Cross]

"I got one." Clint replied. "But just in case we're separated for whatever reason."

Noonian nodded his head and armed his weapon. "Control... three to beam to coordinates I'm sending." he said as he took a quick scan. He had it set so that Clint and Selene and himself would beam to different parts of the power center. Although he put himself closer to his counterpart and was ready to take the shot as soon as he got it lined up.

Clint found himself behind the water treatment system, giving himself a flanking position to Selene. He could see Khan reprogramming something, but the bodies of three of the maintenance workers were blocking his full view.

As soon as they materialized Selene unholstered her weapon. She was further away from her father but she could still see him and Noonian. She silently cursed Noonian for putting himself closer she know what he was doing. He was trying to spare her from having to do the thing she should have done right the first time, kill her father.

Selene scanned the room but she couldn’t see Clint. There were a pile of bodies next to the water treatment plant that blocked her view. It was possible he beamed in behind them. She shifted position and worked her way closer to Khan and Noonian.

[Khan Noonian Singh]

Noonian silently approached Khan as he walked behind him. He didn't really have to be too quiet as he knew his counterpart would be aware he was going to do something.

"You are not quite as weak as I thought... approaching me from behind. Bold move." Khan said as he worked at a console. "Little matter though, in a few minutes, this entire building and much of this city will be rubble and dust."

"Not if I have anything to say about it." Noonian said as he stood next to his counterpart. "Although if you bypass the coolant system, you'll get more yield."

"As if I would take advice from you." Khan replied and gave him a look. "Family makes you weak, attachments, only power matters."

"Oh I agree." Noonian said coldly. "And this power matters." he said as he put his finger on the console. "OVERRIDE T228!"

In an instant a bolt of electricity arced out from the main reactor and struck both Khan and Noonian square in their chests, blowing them both back against the short display console behind it.

"Power matters." Noonian said as he rolled over onto his side and got to his feet. "That little jolt was enough to temporarily stop your heart, but for me... it just gave me the boost to do this..." he clenched his fist and powered up his gauntlet and gave Khan a devastating blow to the face.

"Well... well played..." Khan replied and winced at the blow, normally he would shrug off a hit to the face, but this was enough to actually leave a mark.

"Do the right thing... die." Noonian whispered as he grabbed Khan's head and started to squeeze his skull, his own augmented strength, combined with that in his suit he could feel blood vessels bursting as Khan's eyes started to turn redder.

"Finally... embracing... your true... self." Khan said with a self satisfied smirk as he looked Noonian in the eyes. "The killer. The Khan."

With that Noonian cracked his skull, making a sound like an egg breaking on the floor. A small tendril popped out of the gauntlet and inserted itself into his skull.

"Evolution. Evolve or die. I prefer to evolve." he cocked his head slightly as his HUD brought up his last forty eight hours of memories. "And you just betrayed your employer. Good bye my dark reflection." Noonian said coldly as he sent a lethal jolt through the tendril before getting up.

"What'd we... holy shit." Clint said as he saw the slightly misshapen skull of the other Khan on the floor.

"The threat is ended and... I have intelligence for you." Noonian popped an isolinear chip. "The final forty eight hours. Something we've been working on in bio tech. A way to retrieve someone's last two days of memories, what they saw, what they processed, what they thought, everything. Forensic engramatic download. Should give you some clues as to what he was up to and where he was." he looked over at Selene. "Do you wish to ensure he is dead for certain this time?"

[Liara]

Selene raised her gun, prepared to unload the entire clip into the man who punished her fo much of her life, and turned her into the weapon she was. Looking down at Khan’s crushed skull her hand still trembled slightly. He laid there lifeless and she still couldn’t pull the damn trigger.

[Khan Noonian Singh]

Noonian put his hand on her shoulder and nodded his head. "And this my dear Selene, is why Clint trusts you. Despite what he did to you, what he tried to make you into, you've got a more noble soul than he realized, far more human. And you cannot crush that human spirit."
