Another Crashed Car

[Merlin]

"Alone time? Ohh... you mean coitus! How vulgar! I have never observed humans do that! Let's make things interesting shall we?"

He snapped his fingers and Nick, Alice, and he were all in the bedroom. Rose pedals covered the floor and the only light came from a pair of candles. "No, this won't do at all! It's far too boring and pedantic." He snapped his fingers again and in a flash a mariachi band appeared playing soft love songs and a bewildered Dominus and Bellatrix.

“Put.us.back.now.” Alice said her skin visibly glowing as the temperature in the room climbed. She was beyond pissed. “And if you harm my son I will turn you to ash. Q or not.”

[Bellatrix]

"What the devil!" Bellatrix exclaimed. "Ryder..." she hissed as she reached for her kliden.

[Merlin]

"Ash?" Q replied with amusement. "Not now my dear," he said turning his attention to Dominus and Bellatrix and freezing them both in place, but still allowing them to speak.

Q plopped down on the bed in a seductive manner and patted the mattress it to invite Alice to join him. "Now, why would I want to harm your child? Oh don't worry about them. They can't do anything, and you can't hurt them. Even with your little flame magic."

“You took us away from our son to this fantasy of yours.” Alice said in anger. “I am not in the mood for your games. You said you wanted to help. Then help but this isn’t it. Return them back to where you got them from and then return us to our ship.”

[Merlin]

"My aren't you the big angry mama bear. Very well," a snap of his fingers and they were transported to the Coliseum of Rome, but it wasn't a ruin rather a wholly constructed stadium gleaming white in its newess. Beside Alice was all her children.

"There that's better. It was getting a little cramped in there, especially with the addition of your brood. Now, I have been the advisor of kings. From Juilus Ceaser, Charlemagne, Arthur, Saladin, Henry the Eighth, Queen Victoria, and many more. You four represent the closest equivalent of such a thing. Now, who wants my services?"

“Mommy.” Gale said sounding frightened as he clung to Alice.

“I said our shuttle Q.” Alice growled. “Not Rome. Only Nicholas, Gale, and I. No more games.”

[Merlin]

"You are simply impossible." Q said with a sigh. In a flash of light everything returned as before leaving Alice and Nick alone. Then as an afterthought a bottle of a very old and very expensive wine appeared in Nick's hands.

Alice scooped up Gale and quickly checked the computer to make sure they were still on course for Xenex. When she was happy with the reading she turned back to Merlin.

“Thank you.” She said and brushed Gale’s cheek. “It’s alright Gale. Look Frogie is right where you left him in your seat.”

"I heard that," Q said as he poked his head through the bulkhead as if it was nothing more than a holographic simulation.
