We Are Not of This World

[Nick Ryder]

"Fine, just leave Alice and Gale alone. This is our chance to actually raise him in a semi-normal environment." Nick replied. "Away from all the craziness. Not that I'm sure we won't be involved in things in some small way, but you know as well as I do, as long as we don't make waves we'll be fine, ripples are okay, time balances itself out on a quantum level. For all even you know, we're meant to be here, in this era, in this hamlet at this very moment, changing that would cause waves."

[Merlin]

He smirked, "No promises. Those two are just as important as you. In the meantime enjoy your life in hiding. And don't worry about the time line. Time isn't so fragile and linear as you think it is."

[Nick Ryder]

"Of course... but we screw things up too much, then it's going to lead to more alternate timelines." Nick replied. "i do still intend to return to my normal timeline after an appropriate amount of time. But not right now." he patted his shoulder. "In the meantime Merlin... let a couple of genius augments live their lives huh? Until next time."

Walking back to the table, he slid into the booth next to Alice and kissed her cheek. "So Mrs. Huntington shall we head out?"

[Alice Ryder]

“Why yes Mr. Huntington I think we should.” Alice grinned as she slid out of the booth. “Come on Gale don’t forget your picture.”

[Nick Ryder]

"I have to admit, I... kinda like being your Mr. Huntington." Nick replied as he took her hand. "Refreshing to have dinner and not have a dozen cameras going off around us." he grabbed onto Gale's little hand and smiled. "Once he house is settled in, we should head to London, do some sight seeing. Consider it home schooling." he glanced at Gale. "Should know his roots."

[Alice Ryder]

“I suppose it’s not a terrible idea but I want you to myself for a bit.” Alice said as she kissed him on the cheek. “No interruptions.”

[Nick Ryder]

"And you shall have me." Nick said with a smile. "We'll have to find a good sitter. Maybe Roger knows someone. Gale spends enough time with Rog, he'll be growing his hair long and playing guitar at all hours. Although there is plenty we can do, he's got a whole estate to play in and so do we."

[Alice Ryder]

“Yes we do and someone has turned into a sound sleeper.” Alice said as she ruffled Gale’s hair.

[Nick Ryder]

"I'm sure he'll sleep even more soundly here." Nick chuckled. "Just like his old man, I can sleep through anything that doesn't really need me to be awake at that moment. Course I only ever sleep like two hours a night, but still... a certain tiny blonde always finds ways to use up my excess energy. And given the state of the estate, I've probably got a mile long 'honey do' list. Which is cool, I mean I've wanted to do that all along. Find a place, fix it up, maybe once that's done restore an old car or shuttle or something. Maybe something Gale and I could do together. He's at least learning the names of tools."

“Well we get back home and get setup in a bedroom then off to bed for the night. Then in the morning I think you can borrow my favorite little helper.” Alice said squeezing Gale’s hand gently. “He’s very good at it you know.”
