“I found it on the floor.” Selene told him. “Do you think you can find out who wrote it. Maybe they know what happened to Rommie.”

[James Cross]

"I've seen this handwriting before..." James looked at it more closely. "Rommie, even if you're on an old back up, you can figure this out. Has to be someone who was at the Compound, it's not Bella's, not fancy enough..."

[Liara]

Rommie reluctantly took the note and scanned over the word.

“It’s Alice’s.” Rommie said confused as she handed the note back.

“Alice as in the former First Lady?” Selene inquired. “Why was she in your house?”

[James Cross]

"Gotta love it when the Ryder clan thinks since they started this planet, they can come and go where they please." Clint muttered.

"I'm sure Mrs Ryder had a reason." James said and leaned against the kitchen counter. "I wonder if there's a more recent back up." he went up to Selene and put his arm behind his back. "Rommie, she may not be 'your' Selene, but she's who we have now and clearly dad loves her. Even if there's no ring on the finger. Kinda not a good idea for a spy anyway... Agent McAlister showed me where he lost his ring finger. That's so gross. Oh hey..." he reached into his pocket. "Director Decker wants you to call her and Speaker T'Kir wants to know if Selene's free for a small Op. Sort of bodyguard, sort of eyes and ears. You get to wear leather and fishnets and a pink wig, go total rocker punk to blend in this... quote unquote 'naff as fock club in Edenburg where some Ambassador wants to meet' I'd go for you, but there's an age limit apparently. Mac thinks I can pass for legal if I wear a suit."

[Liara]

“No you can’t go and maybe you should get Kaitlyn before she picks all the flowers.” Selene told him and ruffled his hair.

[James Cross]

"Wow, multi-universal hair ruffling... that's such a 'Selene' thing." James said as he went out of the kitchen and came back with Kaitlyn in tow. "Squirt missed ya dad. And she's been obsessed with ice cream sprinkles since she mentioned it to you Selene. I think Bella was kind of happy to see us head out, that and the Calhoun kids were being 'extra'... MC and JC were battling a bit. Sibling rivalry... "

"Good thing there's plenty of sprinkles and ice cream here." Clint chuckled as he went into the freezer and saw the tubs of ice cream with a note from Noonian. "Oh, looks like he bought that ice cream shop, or at least part owner. Nice. Hey James, summer job opportunity."

"I like working at the Compound. My girlfriend's there." James winked his eye. "And you don't get to tease me about that, you work with your's."

[Liara]

“Liara!” Kaitlyn exclaimed as she came into the kitchen and hugged Selene’s leg.

“Liara?” Selene asked James with a raised eyebrow.

[James Cross]

"Yeah that's what she keeps calling you, Bella's been trying to get her to say 'Selene' or even 'Lanara' but it keeps coming out 'Liara!" James chuckled. "She gave up after a couple days. I think it's kinda pretty actually."

[Liara]

“Daddy!” Kaitlyn said as she moved over to Clint and hugged him.

“Rommie why don’t you turn off for now. We’ll figure out what’s going I promise and...I’m sorry about your Selene.” Selene said with sympathy.

Rommie simply nodded and disappeared.

[James Cross]

"Hey cutie..." Clint said as he crouched down and picked her up and kissed her on the cheek. "So... Liara huh?"

"Out of the mouths of babes as it were." James shrugged his shoulders. "So you two had fun huh? Are you going to be living here with us more? I'm cool with it, I loved our Selene, but she'd want you to have a family like she did. Like it or not we're your new family."
