Ghosts

[Liara]

"Joe was her friend right and it sounds like she spent a lot of time here. Maybe she intended to use this space or just helped him build it." Selene suggested as she wrapped her arms around him.

[Clint Cross]

"I was wondering why I felt oddly comfortable here." Clint said as he kissed her shoulder. "Besides you of course. My builder has been kind of happy that I haven't been coming home lately and that the kids have been at the Presidential Compound with Bella." he reached into his pants and pulled out a padd. "See, this is what still has to be finished. I've been sleeping in the basement workshop slash training space slash guest room. Still need to finish the bedrooms, the living room, half the kitchen and the entire outer shell. Having it rebuilt with some more armor under the siding." he rolled his eyes. "And yes it's being funded by the super high insurance policy the Ferengi sold me, first thing I got from them that actually works."

[Liara]

“Though they’re probably considering you a bad investment.” Selene said with a grin. “They seem to be a constant for both our universes. But this going to be nice when its done.”

[Clint Cross]

"I still have to get them to finish Bella and Jon's place but that's a complete rebuild. Luckily Jon's still got another couple years and if he gets re-elected, he'll be there for at least another four." Clint said as he closed the windows and lit a couple of candles. "Plenty of time. In any case... I don't mind staying around here. This building is way more fortified, especially since the attack. I might need your expect opinion on a few things, but for now... we're going to ride out this homebrew stuff and then we're going to find a mission and kick some ass together."

[Liara]

“Sounds like a plan Hawkeye.” Selene said as she let the towel fall to the floor and slipped under the covers.

[Clint Cross]

Clint shook his head. "Grozit you are beautiful..." he said as he climbed into bed with her.

-- The next morning --

Clint was sitting in his office in the N.I. offices and going over some of the reports. He was taking regular swigs from a large bottle of water and making notes on another PADD. There were a few targets of opportunity, one was a suspected Ajem'dasis acolyte recruiting ground. Another was a smuggling den and another were some reports of Orion pirates who were raiding some of the ocean shipping lanes. All would be good options for a mission with Selene, it just depends on if the Intel was good or not. He'd hate to take her out into the field and it was just a wild goose chase. He was anxious to see her in action.

He glanced at his watch and wondered if Selene was going to come in sooner or if she was coming in closer to the briefing. Sniffing the air, he could already smell JT's cologne and Mac's perfume. So he was right, every one of the couples got something last night. What was it? Something in the air? Although thankfully the effects of the Homebrew had finally ran its course and he was drinking water like a fish to make sure he flushed it out. There was still the team training exercises after the briefing so that would hopefully purge whatever was left before they deployed.

"Yo Clint... where's the new Selene?" JT said as he knocked on his door.

"She's just Selene, not 'the new Selene', like I got a new bow or something." Clint said as he got up from his desk. "Have fun last night?"

"You can tell?" JT winced.

"C'mon man, I can always tell." Clint winked. "Besides Mac was talking about kids, that usually leads to at least a little bit of 'fun'."

"I'm glad you sent us all messages that she was going to be here." JT cleared his throat and tried to change the subject. "I know Mac and Jason took her death hard."

"We all did." Clint said with a sigh. "We all did. But she's ... different yet kind of similar. I'm looking forward to seeing her in action. I'll be going into the field with her today."

"Holy shit... that's kind of a first in a while." JT chuckled. "So where is she?"

[Liara]

“Behind you.” Selene whispered into JT’s ear.

[JT Kirk]

JT practically jumped out of his skin when he heard her voice in his ear. "Holy shit... " he chuckled and spun around. "Wow... that was undignified. That was the exact tone of voice our Selene used when she was ready to stab someone."

Clint started laughing at JT's reaction and slapped his leg. "That was hilarious... I really hope the internal sensors caught that, we are TOTALLY using that for this year's blooper reel."

He rolled his eyes and groaned. "James Kirk... but everyone calls me JT." he extended his hand to her. "Your voice is just a bit lower than what I was used to. So first day in and you scare the shit out of an agent, good job."

"Yeah let's make a good impression our newest master assassin..." Clint said and handed her another box. "Oh found these, I'm assuming they'll fit, I doubt your ear canals are that different from our's. Internal ear comms. I had no idea she ordered a bunch more."

"That was my fault... I kinda lost her supply when we were setting up the Viper before she died. I got the assassin slap upside the head from her already." JT said with a slight wince.

"Hrm... then I won't have you be our target practice dummy during our group training exercise..." Clint deadpanned. "So Selene... got a few options for our field Op today... do you want to deal with a single target or a group?"

[Liara]

“Is he the target?” Selene inquired with a wink at JT as she stepped into Clint’s office. She placed a bag of tea on his desk as she slipped into a chair in front. “A gift from Inara she said it pairs nicely with the other tea you tried. Best to drink it after. And single target I’m a bit sore from all that training you put me through.”

[Clint Cross]

"Then single target it is." Clint said as he put the ones with single targets on one pile. "Then JT and Mac will do the group." he looked at the bag of tea and hummed. "We'll have to try that out later." he cleared his throat. "So that's what you were up to. I was wondering what took you, we're only like 100 feet down from your place." he whispered. "Well, you ready to meet the rest of the team?"
