Around Every Corner

[Liara]

“Oh god.” Selene said as she bit her lip. It was going to be a very long night.

[Clint Cross]

Hours later -

Clint was still holding Selene in his arms after hours of wild, passionate and acrobatic sex. He could tell that he wore her out, from the way she was draped around him. He glanced at the clock and chuckled.

"Well, I think we're both too spent to attempt it on the bar... maybe next time." he chuckled and kissed her neck.

[Liara]

“Yes, next time.” Selene agreed, sleepily. “I couldn’t move if I wanted to.”

[Clint Cross]

"Then we entirely did it right." Clint said with a smile. "I'm going to clean up the table and then I'm coming right back to bed... I'm so not in a position to go home... and I'm pretty sure if I beamed home, I wouldn't make it to my bed." he said with a chuckle and eased out of the bed, giving her a full view of his body, the scratches on his back from the previous night still faintly visible as he quickly put the containers into the fridge in the corner of the galley kitchen and then crawled back into bed, this time getting the sheets off the floor and pulling them up over their bodies and wrapped his arms around her.

[Liara]

"If I wasn't so tired that would have been enough to make me go again." Selene said as she snuggled against his body. "Two nights in a row I've allowed you to stay Clint. If my father were still alive he would have been disappointed."

[Clint Cross]

"Probably... but he'd probably hate me anyway if he treated you as disposable." Clint replied. "Besides, you're a grown woman and you're not exactly a child. Physically or chronologically."

[Liara]

"Yes well he wasn't the kind of man you disappointed." Selene said softly. "But anyway...Tell me something happy while I fall asleep...tell me about your son."

[Clint Cross]

"James? Oh you're going to like him. Whip smart, adaptable to pretty much anything, hell of an organizer. I really do think he's going to be taking my job someday. He may be a teenager but he's comfortable around even 'important' people, doesn't let anyone's perceived power faze him. I did worry a little when he started wearing some of Selene's old gear, her widow's bites gauntlets, keeping one of her knives on his shin. But he's dating Jack and Kinsey's daughter Mackenzie and I think it's a combination of being protective and knowing full well that weird stuff happens and he wants to be ready for it. He was always close to her. That's why I wanted him to meet you sooner than the rest, and don't ask him where he gets some of his contacts." Clint laughed. "I casually mentioned I had a hard time getting one of our assets to report in, a day later he managed to get him reporting on a regular basis. Apparently he found out where his son goes to school and found out that his kid was failing a few courses and there was some tension, so he arranged for a tutor to show up. Little things like that. I joke that we don't pay him, but he gets paid. I want him to go to college and yet... what can they teach him that he doesn't already know?"

[Liara]

“He sounds like a good kid.” Selene said as she looked up at him. “You’re a lucky man Cross and they’re lucky to have you. You clearly care.”

[Clint Cross]

"I certainly try." Clint replied and looked at her. "Guess we all got lucky..."
