Out in the Open

[JT Kirk]

JT smiled as they passed a couple of the crew members on their way to their quarters. "That's why I didn't just get you out of those pants..." he whispered. "But they are entirely coming off as soon as possible."

Opening the door to their quarters he let her in first and then locked the door and set the chime to do not disturb. Unless they were in a fire fight... they were entirely off duty.

"Now Mrs. Calhoun-Kirk..." JT grinned wickedly

A few hours later they laid entwined under the covers. Mac resting her head on JT’s chest as she ran her fingers lazily along his arm. Listening to the rhythmic beating of his heart and slowly drifting off to sleep.

“JT, do you want children?” Mac inquired the thought tumbling out. She’d been thinking about asking him for sometime since Jason told her he was going to be a father.

[JT Kirk]

"Where'd that come from?" JT raised an eyebrow. "Never really discussed it before... but... yeah... maybe. i mean do you?"

[Mac Calhoun]

“I don’t know.” Mac said honestly. “And I guess I’ve just been thinking about Jason and Kassie. Then Mom and Selene...kids without parents and this galaxy isn’t exactly the best place to raise them in. It’s better then where I came from but if we can’t stop Dominus then what’s the point?”

[JT Kirk]

"True... I suppose if it happened... it happens and we'll make the best of it." JT replied. "I'm not opposed to the idea but you're right... if Dominus isn't stopped and he ends up blowing everyone to hell... it's not going to matter either way. Still... I suppose I wouldn't mind someone to look after us when we're old and grey. But then again... we have no idea how long our lives are gonna be either. We're hardly in safe lines of work, but is any where safe now?"

[Mac Calhoun]

“No, you’re right there isn’t really anywhere safe right now.” Mac agreed as she held him tighter. “Maybe one day.”

[JT Kirk]

"Someday... yeah." JT said as he ran his hand through her hair. "I wouldn't be upset if it happened. Just not a great time, but then again when HAS been a good time and people are still having kids. Course, we use protection... but I could be persuaded to stop."

[Mac Calhoun]

“And who would keep an eye on Clint?” Mac inquired.

[JT Kirk]

"Your grandma?" JT said and looked at Mac. "I mean she's like your mom but a bit more... rugged. I still have no idea what she plans to do with all the small knives she replicated, but whoever she uses them on is dead ten different ways. Of course you know we don't have to rush into parenthood. We're both not that old. And if Doc Tess can have a kid a few years ago, I think we can wait a year or so. Again... like I said, if it happens, it happens. I'm not going to knock you up randomly."

[Mac Calhoun]

Mac kissed him softly, “Maybe you can put that protection away after we’ve dealt with Dominus. If you want.”
