The Plotting of Shadows

Dominus' Fulcrum Base--

Bellatrix lounged in her seat a goblet of fine wine in her hand. A pair of red clad elite clone troopers stood guard at the door. The long table in which she, Dominus, Ian, Ophelia, and Órlaith sat was laden with piles of food from all over the Quadrant.

"So," Bellatrix announced to Dominus, "You actually think Kahn will actually help us?"

"No, I don't think he'll succeed." Dominus replied as he took a swig of his Andorian ale. "But it'll distract them. I've been eliminating potential threats to our power base. Although my spies have told me that Nick Ryder and his wife and child have gone missing. Their SHIELD has covered up the attack, but the Acolyte I sent did not report in, so he must have died." he smirked and looked at the metal claw on his right hand. "He's off the board, which is good. One less to rally the troops and with him not around, I can move more freely. They'll think it's him until it's too late." he sighed and shook his head. "And your clone army, are they ready to start invasions or do they need more time? After all, some were only born yesterday."

"They are ready," she said sipping the wine. "Seven-hundred thousand at our disposal, and there is another three or four-hundred thousand as replacements can be ready in a few weeks. Speaking of potential threats, we need to eliminate Lady Underwood or Thorne or whatever she calls herself. She and her ilk are a threat to out plans, and they must be removed from the board."

"The entire Jase'dasis order should be eliminated. But I agree, Thorne is a thorn in our sides." Dominus replied and crossed his arms. "Ian, nice work on her lover. Pity you couldn't dispatch the psionic, but no matter. Porter and the apprentice were solid kills. And Ophelia... what have you done lately? Besides puberty?"

"Ha." Ophelia said as she took a long sip of her wine and sighed. "Well, I did manage to coordinate the destruction of a kilden crystal cave."

"You're right of course. The Jase'dasis must be eliminated." Bellatrix thought for a moment," Most of them stay on their planet. Perhaps now is the time to destroy Monastery. I have also been thinking that we should take Xenex off the board. My sources say Ryder was heading there to hide initially. I think we should take a page from this reality's Ben Sisko and poison Xenex's atmosphere. This way the planet will be a constant reminder of the futility of opposing us."

"Xenex is worth it only if we got something out of it. And if Ryder IS hiding on Xenex, he's off board. That's the only reason anyone would be dumb enough to go from a well fortified and protected planet like Terra Alpha to that kitty litter box of a world." Ophelia said with an eye roll. "But Monastery would be a useful target... it would demoralize the Jase'dasis even further, splinter them, make them more susceptible, at least the weaker Jase'dasis of falling toward our side. Then we can start picking them off. Monastery is a well protected strong hold, but with your new forces and what father learned from Calhoun and her mate, we could take it. Of course, we will probably lose a considerable number of clones, but... that's what they're for. Expendable."

"You're suggesting a ground assault? What purpose does that serve us? Monastery isn't sacred to the Ajem'dasis. It's not even a viable conduit for us. We have Kolbran, and there is no need to waste clones. No, we bomb it from orbit like Mars. As far as Xenex goes... hmmm... okay let's leave it for now. Perhaps we could send a battalion of clones to search for Ryder, but I have a feeling he's not there."

"Well I think we need to desecrate Monastery. Make it so that they never feel like they can use it again. That it feels tainted. They can rebuild. I want to feel their spirits utterly crushed into dust. It will never be home for them ever again. For no one. But especially them. I want them to bleed from their eyes when they even get within orbit."

Bellatrix finished her wine, set the glass down softly and looked Ophelia over. "Very well. Do we have any volunteers for this?"

"I have some." Ophelia replied and refilled her glass. "I have a number of acolytes that have very deep wounds regarding that place and the higher ups of the Jase." she swirled her glass and took a sip of wine. "I also have a line on an Ajem'dasis relic that will help with the corruption. The beauty of this plan, we Ajem'dasis will be able to set foot on the planet, use the kilden crystal mines as we see fit and they... will never be able to return 'home'. Of course... I want to see if our upgrades to the planet killers will actually vaporize the world, not just crack it. But we only use it if they ever try to return to retake it."
