It's Time

"Computer initiate Donovan-4-1-1 Red Tango. Authorization Alpha-98-blue."


"Voice print code verified, the computer responded. "Warning: the disabling of security systems is not recommended."

"Override."

"Security systems deactivated. Transporter systems are locked in a level 1 diagnostic. Tractor beam emitter deactivated. False telemetry program loaded and operating within expected parameters. Program Donovan-411 Red Tango will deactivate in twenty minutes and will be purged from the computer core."

"Let's go," Kat said. "Let's bloody hope this works."

[Trinity Talon]

"Took us months to get everything in play and remember, we speak of none of what we did to anyone. Goes to the grave." Trinity said as they left the sickbay. "Which may be sooner than later if we're not careful. Like we practiced." she said quietly to herself. "Let's go!"

Forty minutes later they were secured in a shuttle moving away from the Vindicator. She carefully put Simon inside the shuttle's emergency stasis chamber and returned to the cockpit. "Any sign they have realized we're gone yet?"

[Trinity Talon]

"Nothing on sensors yet." Trinity glanced at the controls. "But that doesn't mean anything, we need to be a lot further away from the ship before we can even hope to relax, I'm not relaxing until we get within Alliance space and we can ditch this shuttle for something that cloaks with frequencies they don't know until we get to Terra Alpha. There's an old S31 outpost in the asteroid belt not far from the Terra Alpha system, we get there, we can pick up another shuttle and send this one off to keep them off our backs for a bit. I also think, when we get planetside, we lay low for a while. Bellatrix no doubt has spies everywhere and we need to make sure these kids are somewhere safe. Of course I am sure my husband will not be able to shut up about my return. He's probably obsessed by now. So laying low won't last long, but I'd rather be somewhere with enough people around us to back us up."

[Kat Donovan]

"Fortunately for you lass, Lady Bellatrix no longer cares about you. Unfortunately for me I have a bloody target painted on me back. Yer people. Are they likely to to shoot first and ask their questions later?"

[Trinity Talon]

"We didn't go through what we did just to have someone punch your ticket, anyone raises a weapon against you, they go through me." Trinity said firmly. "You defected, you're helping us out and you're living with me and Ethan. Anyone has a problem with that they can kiss my ass."

[Kat Donovan]

"Not exactly what I meant," she said with a smirk. "I appreciate the offer. No, what I meant is that we are in an enemy shuttle ya ken. The hull construction is the same, but the engines are configured completely differently. We'll set off alrams from here to Earth."

She went to the replicator and returned with a baby bottle. Scooping Magus's daughter up into her arms she pressed the nipple to the child's lips. "There lass. That's a bonnie wee lass."

[Trinity Talon]

"That's why I want to swap ships as soon as we can." Trinity replied and smiled at her feeding the little girl. "You're a natural with that. So tell me Kat... have you had any children of your own? You can tell me."

[Kat Donovan]

"Och no!" She replied with a smile. "I canae have any bairns. I was cursed with a barren womb ya ken. No, bairns are no so hard. They just need time an' patience."

[Trinity Talon]

"Well you do seem suited for it." Trinity said with a smile. "We can probably find a way station somewhere, dump this shuttle and find another. Try to stay off the grid until we're sure Bellatrix hasn't sent any enforcers until we get to safety."
