Out in the Open

[JT Kirk]

"Yeah. Hey, when he takes over the bridge, we'll eat something together. Not that I'm trying to smother you but y'know... losing Selene. Puts things into perspective. As much as we used to be players when we were single... take a lot to move past losing you if anything happened." JT said softly. "Even if I have driven you nuts since we first moved in together. But I've gotten better. I actually put my dirty clothes in the replicator or hamper now. I listen to more than the Beastie Boys. Kinda digging your Aunt's stuff lately."

[Mac Calhoun]

She kissed him softly, “You don’t have to change for me. I knew what I was getting into when I married you.”

[JT Kirk]

"Yeah well... I got a lot more black eyes and spent a lot more time in sickbay for... reasons." JT whispered. "Now it's because I got shot hot dogging... hey I'm trying to mature. Not that my counterpart in this reality ever REALLY matured. He was a dirty old man to the end pretty much. I'll probably be a dirty old man with a dirty old lady." he looked at her legs again. "Could those GET any tighter?"

[Mac Calhoun]

She rolled her eyes.

“They fit JT Kirk and you still have a few a bit longer to Captain before you can focus on those thoughts.” Mac said with a knowing expression. “I’ll see you later... and then you can peel them off.”

[JT Kirk]

"Yes ma'am." JT winked at her. "Love that woman." he said as he glanced at the MIKI avatar at the helm who rolled her eyes.

"You meatsacks crack me up." Miki said with a smirk.

"Do you always have to call us that?" JT replied.

"Around you? Always." Miki responded with a laugh and cocked her head. "SIr, I'm getting an alert. There was a planetary explosion... about 5 lightyears from Alliance space. At least according to the listening post. It's a non warp capable world."

[Mac Calhoun]

Mac was just about leave the bridge when she heard Miki’s report.

“Anything else?” Mac inquired as she walked back over to JT’s side. “Did they pick up any ships in the area?”

[JT Kirk]

"It's not clear." Miki replied. "Just that a planet blew up, that kind of shockwave and gravity change can be felt for quite a distance. But... safe to say that COULD BE where the Scions and Dominus are operating. Of course, logically if they can blow up a planet... a small ship like us would be like... crushing an origami crane."

"So yeah... totally NOT going to go there without back up." JT said and looked at Mac. "I think we should get Clint and send word to Malcolm and Bella, if we went right to the President... we'd lose control over the situation."

[Mac Calhoun]

“Clint first.” Mac said as she started to leave again. “I don’t think Price would take this away from him, but this is Clint’s op it’s up to him to notify them. Let me know if we pick up anything else.”

With that Mac left the bridge and headed for Clint’s quarters. There was a sense of urgency in her stride. Finally, after a month or so they might have a lead on Ophelia and Dominus.

She reached Clint’s quarters and hit the chime and waited for him to answer.

[Clint Cross]

"Come in." Clint said as he was healing up his hand, he hated these blood things. "Door's open Hawkeye." he said with a slight smirk. He loved calling her that, she was still his best pupil. "How's the hand?"

[Mac Calhoun]

“It’ll heal.” Mac said as she stepped into his quarters. “Thought you might want a status update...Miki just picked up a planetary explosion about five lightyears outside Alliance space. JT doesn’t think we should check it out without backup but it’s up to you.”
