Around Every Corner

[Clint Cross]

"Really? How did you find that one out?" Clint looked at the padd. "Huh... Lara Jones? I think I saw a couple of her books sitting around. Haven't really had a chance to indulge in books lately, my real life reports are almost as weird as any fiction and about as interesting really." he smiled as he looked at her. "I think I can make those conditions work."

[Liara]

“Good.” Selene smiled back at him. “So how long do I get to put off the inevitable?”

[Clint Cross]

"How long do you want it to take? This may be my second chance at all this... but your first one so y'know... you're in the driver's seat for some of this." Clint replied. "Facing off against a room full of people with weapons probably doesn't scare us as much as... people that we have to live with."

[Liara]

“If it were solely up to me, I’d never see him.” Selene said. “But you have to live when him more than I do. Based on everything I have seen in these news reports I’m information that would be best coming from you. The longer we wait the more likely that wont happen. The media has a tendency of finding out and revealing information best left private.” She held up the pad containing the article with Jon and Bella in Jon’s office, in a rather compromising position.

"Yeah that's why I told her about us... besides the fact that she smelled you, but the girl's always had a nose ever since she got a transfusion too. Upped her augment traits." Clint said and blushed slightly. "I kinda hate seeing that it's just weird, but those two made the best of a potentially bad situation, they still make a ton of money off of selling reproductions of that underwear and it benefits the orphan community she set up. Although that was also set up by my daughter Solara, who was manipulated by K'n'zy. She had no idea that she was the leak until months later. Kind of the reason why I would just come out and suggest a telepath check you over. We've got enough enemies still around that would love to hit us where it'll hurt the most. Because they've done it before." he sighed. "Reality is stranger than fiction sometimes. Well, let's do this... we enjoy the evening, Thai food, going over info... whatever else happens tonight... and then maybe tomorrow we'll kind of bring in the others. Tali and Noonian and my son James. Neutral yet secure ground, Leo's in the Capitol."

[Liara]

“Deal.” Selene grinned. “Though I do have one question…does Moscato and strawberries go with thai?”

[Clint Cross]

"Better as a desert." Clint replied as he looked at her over his coffee cup. "Usually you have something more creamy with it, like an iced coffee with cream or a cream tea or something. Although we're usually gluttons for punishment so we usually added extra peppers. Course the idea is to actually taste the flavor not just the heat. Just don't expect me to do what I did during round two after eating Thai... you are strong in many ways but peppers in that spot... not a great combo."

[Liara]

“I appreciate the consideration and so do my lady parts." Selene laughed. "How long until you have to go back downstairs?”

[Clint Cross]

"I'm done with what I need to do there." Clint tapped his glasses. "Anyone needs me they can get a hold of me. I was planning on picking up dinner and other supplies. I did have a bag of clothes sent up for you, Selene left some changes of clothes in my office, usually because..." he chuckled lightly. "Well I'll let you use your imagination. That and ever since my counterpart blew up our house, we realized we need to keep non mission clothes around here. Armored leather bodysuits aren't very comfortable for just lounging around in. And Joe has a very strict no naked asses in the bar rule."

[Liara]

“I guess that rules out sex on the bar.” Selene said, sounding a bit disappointed. “I guess I should get cleaned up down here and get things squared away upstairs. I hope you don’t mind eating on the couch. I have my gear laid out on the kitchen table.”
