The Way Out is Through

"I don't think you belong here," a female voice announced. She stepped from the shadows and drew back her hood to reveal her face. She was young, in her late teens with corn yellow hair. Her hazel eyes darted about searching for threats. "Father wasn't expecting visitors."

[Liara]

“Glad I could surprise him.” Selene said as she spun toward the voice and fired.

[Órlaith]

Órlaith's kliden whipped out, ignited and orange blade blocked the shot. She reached out with the ijulna and casually yanked the weapon from Selene's grip and let it fall behind her with a clatter.

Deactivating the kliden Órlaith sat cross legged on the floor giving her an even more juvenile look. "You must be Selene. Who were you talking to? Wait! Don't tell me." A grin crossed her face, "It must be Cross. He is cute."

[Liara]

“He has an arrow for your sister.” Selene stated matter of fact as she discreetly thumbed a shock disk into her palm.

[Órlaith]

"You know who I am!" She said with a grin. Then her expression turned grim, "He probably has an arrow for my brother and myself I would imagine. That's of no consequence," she said with a shrug and a dismissive wave of the hand. "I wouldn't advise that. Mama won't like that. No, no, no she wouldn't like that at all. I heard she killed a dozen or so Kinseys after your Kinsey escaped and nearly killed my sister in the process. The slaves who had to clean it up the mess had to be euthanized from the trauma."

[Liara]

“What do you want? I’m in the middle of killing people.” Selene stated.

[Órlaith]

"I won't stop you. I couldn't if I wanted to." Using the ijulna she returned Selene's weapon. "Only a fool or a man would initiate a fight one could not win. I'm no fool, and neither of us suffer from testosterone poisoning."

[Liara]

“No we don’t.” Selene agreed as she eyed the girl. “I suggest you go before Cross gets here if you want to live. Your sister killed his wife he may kill you to.”

[Órlaith]

Órlaith glanced around suspiciously and nodded. "Before I go may I ask you a question? Why are we enemies? Mama says it's because you are weak. You don't seem weak to me even if your people do believe in forgiveness."

[Liara]

“They aren’t my people yet but I trust Cross.” Selene stated honestly. “As for your question from what I’ve seen they have an issue with people invading their reality and killing their friends.”
