The Way Out is Through

[Clint Cross]

"True... but these kids are telepaths and can see through that." Clint winced. "'Hey kids c'mon down to the house we'll have a barbecue' 'what do you want us to do for your THIS time Clint?' They know when they're being used. Course, they also love us so they'll do it because they want to."

[Liara]

Selene laughed, "You are something Cross. This world is so different."

[Clint Cross]

"Different in a good way I hope. Even if there are days... heh... there are days." he rolled his eyes. "Still, we're trying. That's all we can do. I'm actually glad that you came to this reality and this world. At least you're not a super dark version of what I've been used to. Course there's an asshole version of me... so I guess some realities are even worse than what you've experienced."

[Liara]

"Maybe but you don't know everything about me Clint." Selene said matter of fact. "I'm a killer first but I'm trying because you asked."

[Clint Cross]

"I'm sure I don't know everything, for every two things I knew about Selene there were like... five things I didn't. So I'm very used to it, hell, she doesn't know everything that I did in my past either." Clint said as he waited at a stop light and sighed heavily and closed his eyes. "It only started to really bother me after I saw entire cities wiped out during the Imperium War here. And then our entire Naval Intelligence office was wiped out, just before I came to Terra Alpha. Had to be a better way. I was also getting older and each year I was racking up more kills than days in the year. Some justified some because I had to. A few... because I wanted to. Still wake up in cold sweats sometimes. There's more like us than I think either of us realize."

[Liara]

"Maybe one day I'll feel that way." Selene said honestly as she looked out the passenger window. "They did a good job making sure I'd enjoy it. Orlaith might be the first I'd regret if it came to it."

[Clint Cross]

Clint nodded his head. "It'll take a little while to realize that you don't have to terminate everyone. Gets almost too easy after a while." he looked at her and smiled slightly. "Selene and I always talked about starting something of a support group for assassins... but every time we had a few of us get together, someone would drunk off their ass and that ended that."

[Liara]

“I can’t imagine getting any number of us together would be a great idea.” Selene laughed. “Not in practice anyway. Lights green.”

[Clint Cross]

Clint smiled and nodded his head. "Well, you already met a couple of the others. Then there's the 2nd Lady, T'Kir... " he smirked. "T'Kir is Romulan but she's adopted Scottish mannerisms and accent... she's the one that tried to get us drunk on 'Warbird'"

[Liara]

"She knows our tolerance for alcohol is high right?" Selene inquired with a raised eyebrow. "The chance of her actually getting you and your wife drunk were slim."
