The Way Out is Through

“And I’ve done them for less but we can discuss it another time. You’re off the clock Director Cross.” Selene reminded him as she squeezed his hand gently.

"He still is, and his support is tenuous at best. Many are demanding the reinstatement of the Prime Minister, and the House of Commons. Oh, one last thing sir. We still haven't seen Jack or Kinsey. I have contacts as far away as the Delta Quadrant." She shrugged, "Maybe it's for the best. Word on the street says that most Alliance citizens see the destruction of the Brethern as one less potential enemy. They don't nessicarally agree with the method, but they don't exactly disagree with the results."

[Clint Cross]

"Well, if they crop up. let me know. Otherwise... I'm, like Agent Lanara has stated... I'm off the clock." Clint gave her a salute. "Nice work Agent Stormborn." he squeezed Selene's hand and walked to the secure transport pad out in the 'bullpen' area. "Cross House site 2. Energize." he ordered the computer and in a shimmer of blue and white they were gone from the office and reappeared in a small shed outside the house.

"Welcome to the Cross House... or Archer Hall... or... we still never could quite settle on a fancy name for it." Clint chuckled. "Assassin Arms? Two too many 'asses' in the name though."

[Liara]

Selene laughed softly, “How about house?”

[Clint Cross]

"Well just plain 'House' isn't fancy... " Clint chuckled and lead her up to the front door. "I've been curious if this will work... put your hand on the security plate, curious to see if it'll read your biometrics as our Selene's or if it'll actually realize you're not her. Oddly enough you're the first counterpart of the same age that I've had around to test it. The twins and their younger counterparts have different finger prints, apparently it was part of a mission and they had them altered slightly and I'm not bringing Bartyn out here to test the security."

[Liara]

“Ah the real reason you brought me to Chateau de Cross.” Selene teased as she removed her glove and placed her hand on the plate.

[Clint Cross]

"No, because we got really loud the other night." Clint chuckled as he held up the bag of tea as he saw the door coded her as 'green'. 'Huh... that's either crappy or great..." he raised an eyebrow. "Again don't mind the mess... as he turned on the lights. Okay there WAS mess..." he looked around and saw Rommie's holographic backside. "Hey Rommie... couldn't stand the mess huh? Our resident AI... when she's not locked inside an alarm clock or shuttle by one of the kids."

“I picked you up on sensors when you beamed in including your plus one. You don’t tell me things any more Clint.” Rommie said as she pointed a feather duster at him. “I updated her biometric scan when she placed her palm on the plate. It would have failed the security measures you’ve been working on for counterparts would have worked. Although Selene had a scar on her palm from Hugh. She doesn’t.”

“You have an AI that does house work?” Selene inquired with a raised eye brow.

“I do more then just house work.” Rommie said defensively. “And if you don’t finish this house Clint I’m moving. I hear Joe’s hiring.”

[Clint Cross]

"Aww you know you don't mean that." Clint chuckled and nodded his head. "One more month, they still need to put in the new windows and finish the electrical." he smiled and gestured. "Selene, meet Rommie... originally she was Kinsey's personal AI but we adopted her. Kind of the only reason I didn't completely spiral out into a booze fueled murder rampage after Selene was killed. Part of the reason why I still have dry wall to finish, she slapped a bottle out of my hand so fast it put a hole in the wall."

“I didn’t like that wall anyway.” Rommie said with a shrug. “And you weren’t the only one in mourning. We both lost Selene and I lost Kinsey as well. I might be made up of particles of light and complex code but I still have feelings.”

“Well you did a nice job cleaning up considering the on going construction.” Selene said trying to be friendly.

“I still don’t know if I like you yet.” Rommie said eyeing her. “Do you want me to give you privacy? I’m assuming you brought her here for more then a tour. Considering she looks like Selene and almost talks like Selene. There’s a slight variance in her vocal pattern. I’ve also noted variances in skeletal structure possibly a result of some kind of confinement.”
