The Way Out is Through

[Clint Cross]

"And I have a son with a larger heart than even I do." Clint replied. "Still, there are people who the extra effort is worth it and she's worth it. Honestly all of her are worth it. We almost raised this reality's version of Selene as our daughter before she was killed by Lincoln. Of course, I'm old fashioned, I only really share my bed with one of them and we have a winner."

[Rommie]

“Well then I don’t you have anything to worry about Clint.” Rommie said and cursed. “Damnit. The builders just broke a window in the master bedroom. They’re not suppose to be in there today. Don’t worry I’ll take carry of it focus on Selene. Maybe today would be a good day to rip the bandaid off. Mac said their mission went well and something about not having enough aspirin to see you today. I didn’t understand that part.”

[Clint Cross]

"She's overwhelmed by our sexual thoughts." Clint chuckled and looked at Selene. "I think ever since that last mission on the Viper her powers have been a bit more sensitive than usual. Kinda wish her dad wouldn't have fucked off with Kinsey. Maybe Tali can help her." he took a sip of his coffee and glanced at the table. "Maybe put the food in a warmer until she wakes up, she's deep in REM sleep."

[Rommie]

“You wore her out.” Rommie teased. “I didn’t actually record last night. I spent it in privacy mode, promise, expect for the sign of distress but I didn’t detect it from you so I figured everything was okay.”

[Clint Cross]

"I think she finally feels safe. I remember after Lincoln was finally taken out, Selene slept like a baby for weeks." Clint said and chuckled. "Until some other threat kept her awake at night." he glanced at the ceiling. "Wait, you said they broke a window. That shouldn't happen, I requested four inch thick transparent aluminum. Nothing short of a torpedo or a massive asteroid should break it."

[Rommie]

“Windows in the French doors going to the balcony.” Rommie told him. “I’ll run a scan on the other windows but those were the ones Selene picked out.”

[Clint Cross]

"Well she picked the style, but the glass should be the reinforced kind. Everything is supposed to be nearly unbreakable." Clint replied. "This is the prototype for Jon and Bella's new place. He's not always going to have the Compound. And my daughter isn't going to just be a quiet housewife. They're going to need a secure home."

[Rommie]

“Don’t worry I’ll take carry of it.” Rommie said as she cocked her head to the side, running a quick scan. “The French doors are the only valuable windows. So I suppose I won’t terrorize the builders to badly for breaking them. I’ll get the correct glass ordered and figure out what happened.”

[Clint Cross]

"Thank you." Clint replied. "I know I'm picky with all this, but I built the original place to be secure and durable and that clearly only the frame and the foundation really survived, so... we learn." he sighed softly. "Should probably start securing her apartment at Joe's a bit more too, just in case."

[Rommie]

“I can’t get into the apartment but I can go to Joe’s. Unless you want to secure the apartment yourself. You can leave behind a part of my program that way I can keep an eye on her when your not around. Since she’s our Selene now too.” Rommie offered and glanced over at Selene who stirred slightly in her sleep. “Clint...do you think her people will come for her?”
