Temp Fix

[Liara]

“Bubbles.” Selene laughed softly. “Fondue sounds like fun.”

[Clint Cross]

Clint smiled and poured her a glass of champagne and handed it off to her. "Maybe tomorrow we'll do the fondue thing." he looked at her in the low light and shook his head. "I'm still sort of in shock by all this, only hours ago you were practically buried in an ice cream shop and now we're in paradise, sipping champagne and eating berries naked. Told you, our lives are going to be weird... but fun."

[Liara]

“You weren’t wrong.” Selene said as took her glass, a strawberry, and slipped out of bed. She bit into the rich chocolate shell of the dipped strawberry as she walked to the open balcony doors. A tiny moan escaped her lips as the chocolate and strawberry flavors mixed on her tongue.

This world continuously surprised her. The food, the people, and even the views were different. Her world was harsh this one was...beautiful even at night.

[Clint Cross]

"Places like this... kind of remind me why we're fighting so hard. And not just luxury hotels... but optimism. Hope. There was a minute there, I thought maybe I'd have to retire, that two master assassins wouldn't be needed. Our biggest enemies were made allies, thanks to my daughter Bella. Sure we had a few others here and there, but... we're not the kind of people you throw at them. Kind of why I opened the Gym and built that big house in the middle of nowhere. Although a case could be made for this paradise... naked you in the moonlight, waves crashing, tropical flowers... " he handed her another strawberry. "They're good aren't they? Chocolate's really good."

[Liara]

“Chocolate was just as rare as strawberries.” Selene said just before she bit into it. Taking a sip of she champagne she turned back to the ocean. There had been so many first for her since being here. Just standing there looking out at a moonlit ocean for pleasure was a first.

Clint was a first on so many levels. That first night she’d used him for the sex. Now, they’d grown into something. She was starting feeling something for him she was afraid to put words to. She wasn’t even sure if she knew what the words were. Her father would have called her weak. He would have killed him.

Drinking her champagne she couldn’t stop thinking about her father and how he got there. He tried to take her back before Noonian intervened. She didn’t want go back. She couldn’t go back not after experiencing this world. What if her father wasn’t the only who had come? What if Lucius had come?

Selene finished off her glass and wiped at a tear that slid down her cheek.

[Clint Cross]

Clint wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck. "It's beautiful isn't it... even at night."

[Liara]

“It is.” Selene said leaning into him as she held onto his arm. “I never want to leave.”

[Clint Cross]

"Makes you appreciate it more." Clint replied and sighed happily. "Still... being with you, just being together... kind of feels like this all the time. I really had forgotten how much better I am around someone like you. And I am not just saying that because of the amazing sex we just had. I feel like there's a lot of things we took for granted before, that I'm seeing with new eyes."

[Liara]

"Oh?" Selene inquired. "Like what?"

[Clint Cross]

"Oh lot of little things." Clint said as he held her. "Realizing just how good things are... and how bad they could be."
