The Way Out is Through

"That's assuming I didn't kill them first," Aimee said with straight faced seriousness. "It's not like I'm afraid of jail."

"Oh please... we'd never do more than an hour." Olivia reached into her purse and pulled out a leather wallet. "License to kill is still valid until 2430." she pulled another card out of the back of her leather wallet. "I managed to give us both some leeway, figure it'll take another ten years before all our old enemies are in the ground or too feeble to give a fuck." she flipped the card to her. "Still says Sandoval. You're not spending a second in jail again though. At least without me in the cell next to you. And only because we need a safe space."

Aimee waved a dismissive hand, "Don't worry about the name. It's not like I am going to need the card. The only people left alive that want to see me dead are Dominus and Bellatrix. I'm pretty sure I'd get a medal for killing either of them."

"Oh of course, still... they do have goons and other minions. Normal people frown on us shoving a high heel through someone's eye socket or phasering someone into dust." Olivia gestured with her hand. "Speaking of heels, you know this new office you picked out, directly across from AlphaTek Tower and my sister's flagship store. We should probably work to secure some rock solid shipping deals with them both. I still can't believe Angel's little boutique is like a chain now. Good thing she gave me stock and an advisory position on her board. Although the real speed bump would be Miss Lia, her business manager. BUT I think we can sweet talk her. It would be a lot of steady shipping out, especially if we offer the security that your clients enjoy."

"Who has she been using? Or has it been anyone? Well, anyone but me. I haven't had any shipping contracts from her."

"Marinus Freight. Personally they aren't horrible, but Lia's been sleeping with one of their salespeople and I'm doubtful he's really giving Angel the best rate and I know they're not that secure, hell half of that shit we found in Vinelli's was stolen from them. And we're family." Olivia gestured with her hand. "Besides, Marinus is ripe for a buy out from Orbital. Which means they won't be doing softlines, they'll move to consumer products. Kirby used to use them when she needed to hitch a ride. Marinus was also a rival of my father in law. Hey you may have been actually running freight, but I've used freighters as cheap no questions asked transit since I was a teenager. Which is another thing... we don't smuggle agents, that's just asking for trouble. Trust me on that."

Aimee smirked, "Smuggling was half my business when I first started. Hell, I smuggled my husband off of Earth, and most of the Scots on Terra Alpha during the height of the Imperium War."

"Yeah, but spies are hard on the vehicles and containers. We usually add explosives if we're found out or weapon holes. Gavin used to make sure that if he smuggled Kirby and I that we had our 'own' container module. So he wouldn't have to repair the ones he actually used for freight, but there were quite a few times that we got the freighter shot at because someone was looking for us. That was sort of how we... realized we loved each other as more than friends. One or the other of us would use a holomask and bind our chest to look male and if whoever was chasing us found us, we'd be screwing, which 99% of the time worked to keep them from bothering us. We kind of enjoyed that. If it wasn't for my mother thinking that Marcus would come back and make an 'honest' woman out of Kirby and raise their son, I would have married her. Course, then if I did, I never would have met Ethan and had my Vin and Lana."

She shrugged, "I'll take your word for it."

"I'm glad you met dad... even though knowing him now... he's weird." Lana said as she rejoined her mom and 'Aunt'. "All 'Ooh Rah' Marine and working out and weapons training."

"Hey, that's catnip to an agent kiddo." Olivia said with a wink.

"May sound incredibly weird, but... I would rather role model myself after someone more... I dunno... like Aunt Aimee and you... even momma Kirby. So, are we being corporate types now? Not just rockers? I know we're creatively in a bit of a rut but still..." Lana gestured with her hand.

"Oh the Mata Haris are still a going concern, but no one said we can't be both. And you are definitely going to work with us, being an assistant did wonders for my sister... not that I want you to be like Auntie Angel... but it's free education that you can't get elsewhere. Aimee and I and Kirby may not be around forever... you'll have to take care of yourself and build a life, you're not a kid like your brother anymore. Not to say that I'm saying not act like a kid now and then... but if you start now, by the time you're legally an adult, you'll be able to do whatever you want and have enough saved up to do whatever without worrying about pay." Olivia closed her eyes. "I just don't want you being a solider like we were. That's a life I would truly like to save you from."
