"Yes... yes... " the Director said. "It'll zone in on a reality you want to find in the multiverse. It's still tricky, but it might be a good way of getting rid of Dominus once you capture him.'

"Two bullets would do the same thing, but we can certainly use this to bolster our numbers." Noella replied

"Or as a way of finding allies if they're in the right spatial coordinates." Jack added. "How did they find this?"

"Our people have been working on the rift situation nearly since it started with you and opened up rifts near our space as well. Essentially what found the key was a shield mod we made to a probe and the science boys figured out the frequencies." he said with a smile. "So... I'm willing to share if you... oh hell... just make sure you get rid of Dominus once and for all, before he does to us, what he did to Thessia and other planets. He has threatened us once already."

[Kinsey Calhoun]

"You don't have to ask." Kinsey replied matter of fact. Despite the months that passed Thessia was still fresh in her mind. It had been her safe harbor for years before her stepfather had found her adrift in space. Now it was nothing but a crater. "I owe Dominus for Thessia."

[Jack Ryder]

"Indeed, if this will help give us an edge... then today may be the turning point." Jack said as he held the device.

"Oh and one more thing... since you brought the Madame Secretary... I want our embassy moved, we only accepted that place because it was available, we want something where we can actually put a colony, something in a colder climate." the Director replied. "After all, your President Price has assured us we'd be treated like we were treated under the old Federation, but better. Our President would be quite happy to see that happen without him making a stink himself."

"We'll bring it up." Noella replied. "I don't see why it couldn't happen. Your people were the first to secede even before we did."

"It's been a hard six years." he said. "That's why I'm only Intelligence Director and not Vice President of our own government, I'm one of the few Starfleet Intelligence trained members of the government we have left. My nephew was killed under your watch Director Calhoun, I don't blame you just stating a fact. That massacre in your offices, he was one of the ones killed."

"We never forgot that." Jack replied. "We put our offices underground for that very reason. His name is actually memorialized in three places."

"Oh really... never knew that." he mused. "I'll... forget all the past if you let me see that someday. Just take out Dominus, if you need manpower, we may be able to spare some but we're spread thin right now. The Scions of Sol have been hitting our border outposts, an attack IS imminent, I am sure of it."

[Kinsey Calhoun]

“I’ll do what I can director and I’ll see if Xenex can spare a few ships to help in defense of your planet.” Kinsey reassured him and smirked. “Even though your planet is a giant ice cube and I can’t feel my toes.”

[Jack Ryder]

"And this is our warm season." He replied

"Thank you for your time Director..." Jack said as he put his arms across Kinsey and Noella's backs.

"That shuttle better have a good heater." Noella muttered. "So where to next?"

"Xenex of course. Have to test this out and if the Pit is as active as it is this time of year... should give us a controlled environment to try this." Jack said with a smile. "Plenty warm on Xenex."

"So I go from an ice cube to a baked potato... " Noella glanced at Kinsey. "I must say I am rather proud that you didn't do much damage besides reconfigure that ice sculpture."

She shrugged, “I wasn’t sure I could do it either. Just thought it would be funny if it worked.”

[Jack Ryder]

"See luv... you're more capable than you think." Jack said with a smile. "I always knew you could do more if you put your mind to it and just had fun with it all."

"That's what Nicholas always said with his abilities, he got such fine control, he could shave my legs for me. Better than any other device I used before or since." Noella said with a slight chuckle. "So your power, I'm assuming they're solely from your mother's side hmm? Telekinetic ability does tend to exhibit more in psionic females, whereas telepathy is usually stronger with males. I'm thinking possibly because you have a bit more cross brain action going on." she gave Jack a look. "Remember, I used to be a doctor... well, half of me used to be. I'm actually fascinated by the prospect of meeting the woman that sired you. But even more fascinated by the prospect of finding a way to navigate those rifts perhaps we could find a way to let some of the travelers return to their realities. I do have a number who refuse to move on past the asylum stage and become formal citizens because they think they can return to their home reality someday."

“Maybe but...there is a version of me out there that has already beat Dominus. Beat him enough he fears her. I want to know how she did it so we Can get rid of him once and for all.”

[Noella St. James]

"Well, if you can do what you did to ice, imagine what you could do to him if pressed." Noella said as they entered the shuttle. "Or perhaps she had another secret weapon that augmented her power." she pointed to the device that Jack held. "Perhaps you had a version of your mother in reserve, the two of you, focused on whatever he had... speaking as a mother, if I could support my daughter from the sidelines, I would. As I suspect you too would do for your own children. Let them think they did it by themselves, give them confidence."

“I guess we’ll find out.” Kinsey said as she closed the hatch and shrugged off her jacket. She slipped into the pilots seat and fired up the engines setting course for Xenex. A strange sense that everything was coming full circle washed over her as the shuttle lifted off the ground. She couldn’t explain it only that everything that came after Ker’ken started that day she’d left him and walked right through the pit to freedom.
