"Well you know there IS an easy solution to that. Take my place on the Kitea." Angel replied. "She's an exploration ship more than she's a war ship, even though she's a Command Battlecruiser as far as her class, she's built to explore and expand our understanding of the space around us." she pointed to a small model of the ship hanging above the side counter next to the replicator and fridge. "Based her on an existing spaceframe but she's got some Erebus in her."

Rebecca laughed, "Now, that ought to confuse people. Me being both the CO and XO at the same time, yet, not. No, I have left the fleet behind me long ago. It's not where I belong anymore. No matter how much I wish it were true."

"Well, you know dad does have Tigris, ask him nicely, he may let you take her out. Assemble a small crew and just go out and explore or do good or whatever." Angel said as she poured Becca another glass. "You know whatever you decide, I will entirely back you up. That's what family does for each other. Listen, no one said you had to make a snap decision. If raising these kids is what you feel is what you need to do, then maybe that's enough. But my offer still stands, live with me. Ethan already loves it here and I'm used to Xenexian children. Course she seems a whole lot better behaved than Mackenzie or Jason."

[Rebecca Talon]

"She is a good kid. Quiet too. Might have something to do with the abuse. I just hope I'm giving her all the help she needs."

"You're giving her love and the freedom to be a kid again. That's all she needs. Jack's been giving lessons in Xenexian should sit on one or two, it's helpful when Kinsey and Jonas start speaking in native Xenexian and they're talking shit behind our backs." Angel said with a laugh. "Olivia and I spent a week trying to find old languages that the Universal Translators didn't really have in their database, so we spent an entire summer learning this language so we had our 'own' language. We spoke it behind mom's back... she knew it and she grounded us for the rest of the summer."

She shrugged, "We have our thing. It's weird, but it works. Besides if she is going to live here on Terra Alpha she's going to need to learn English. "

"I don't mind being her English tutor." Angel said as she walked over to a small cabinet and pulled out a leather bound notebook and took out a small, very well worn and used isolinear chip. "Not sure if you remember, but English wasn't Olivia's first language, mom taught her in a weird Japanese and Chinese language. Had no idea she didn't actually 'know' English until her universal translator stopped working when we were in school one day. Dad and I taught her English. It's a hard as hell language to learn since it's got so many words from so many languages in it. It's worse than Klingon."

Rebecca shrugged, "If you think you are up to it, then by all means. I can use all the help I can get."

"I wouldn't have offered if I wasn't up to it." Angel said and pointed out a small thumb print secured cabinet. "Oh and this... don't let the kids into it. It's got the really high powered booze and... weapons." she sighed happily. "Y'know... I think I'm going to woman up and tell Tomarah I'm taking some leave. Besides, I trust Meat to keep her safe, so she'll be home soon enough. And if we have to... deal with a version of Kat Donovan, then I'd prefer to not have a Fleet badge on when we do."

"And what does that mean?" Rebecca said with a smirk, "Are you going to court marital this one because the last one got away?"
