[Liara]

"I haven't been as on edge here." Selene admitted. "That's not necessarily a good thing. It leads to complacency and letting my guard down. That's how people get killed."

[Tali’Zorha]

"I agree... I do think we need to keep our guards up. But it's not healthy to be always on guard. Then we get zero sleep, are irritable and cranky and start roughing up people..." Tali cleared her throat. "I kind of like seeing happy and content Selene now and then. You actually smile and not because you're going to kill someone."

[Liara]

"I smiled before." Selene said defensively and frowned. "Yeah fine whatever. I'll see you later Tali behave."

[Tali’Zorha]

"Not that way..." Tali said and waved. "Same to you my friend." she winked and got back in the car. "Have fun!"

[Liara]

“You too.” Selene said and pressed the buttons on Tali’s watch that would beam her back to Joe’s.

Several seconds later, Selene materialized inside the bar. Joe was just finishing wiping the bar top and giving instructions to his assistant Trish.

“Hey kido!” Joe called over to her with a wave. “Got something for you to try with Clint.”

“Oh?” Selene inquired with a raised eyebrow.

“Yeah Kinsey was working on this new batch of Homebrew and it just finished.” Joe said as he sat a bottle of containing green liquid on the bar. “Don’t ask me why it’s green. All I know is she was combining some herbs she got from Thessia that Inara uses in a tea. I think the herbs made it green. Anyway, she was specific it should be served to couples. So I figured you two could try it out and let me know before I start selling it.”

“Only if you throw in some of those strawberries I know you’ve got in the back.” Selene said with a smirk.

“I think we could do that Joe.” Trish replied with a smile. “I’ll have some sent up.”

“Then you’ve got a deal.” Selene said a she took the bottle and headed up the stairs. “Oh and Joe…try to go easy on Tali she’s a fragile woman.”

“God that woman’s going to kill me. Trish you know where my will is right?”

“Oh, Joe you’re going to be fine.”

Selene chuckled as she made her way up to the apartment. Once she walked inside she kicked off her shoes and walked over to the kitchen. She pulled out to glasses on the off chance that Clint might show up. He hadn’t said he was planning to but she secretly hoped he would.

Being with Tali she hadn’t really missed him that much but now being back in her apartment she found herself missing him. His scent was everywhere. It seemed to hang in the air. Maybe the attraction was chemical then again she did enjoy talking to him. He was good company.

Selene popped the cork on the bottle of strange homebrew and poured a glass. It had a pleasing floral aroma she didn’t recognize and the taste was sweet. It reminded her oddly of spring.

Finishing off the glass she refilled it and walked over to the bed. She sat down on the edge sipping at her drink and fanning herself. The room felt hot so she got up and opened the windows. The cool breeze blew in through the windows against her face and she sighed happily. Sipping at her drink she walked back over to the bed and sat back down. The breeze blew through her apartment and she inhaled deeply. God it wreaked of Clint.

[Clint Cross]

Clint walked back into the bar after checking on one of the cycles he was planning on taking home and contemplated going up to see if Selene was in. Not that he wanted to seem like wasn't leaving her alone, but he really did enjoy being around her. Reminded him a lot of the old times when he and Selene had first met. Finding out about each other, sharing 'war stories', and just enjoying each other's company. Not that they ever got bored being together, he even enjoyed when they were just sitting at home together doing nothing really.

He half contemplated just going home, let her have an evening to herself and yet... it's not like he HAD to go back, Kaitlyn and James were still with Jon and Bella and Jon actually seemed to not so subtly suggest when he called him that wanted to keep watching Kaitlyn. He suspected that it kept the rest of the cabinet from bugging him too much if she was around. Or the rest of the office staff. Smart man... but he did miss his kids. Glancing at the bar and how Joe was nervously getting ready, he chuckled and headed up the stairs. Even if it didn't lead to sex, that was never what kept him coming back to Selene. Nice side effect and he always enjoyed it.

"Selene, it's Clint... you decent?" he said as he knocked on her door.

[Liara]

Selene jumped up so fast she almost spilled her drink or what was left of it. She’d been sipping at it steadily the warmer she felt. His comment made her chuckle a bit she’d actually been thinking about ripping her clothes off. The heat was getting ridiculous.

“For now.” Selene replied as she answered the door.

[Clint Cross]

"Oh really?" Clint said as he walked in and smiled as he saw her. "So how'd your day out go? You're looking... happy."

[Liara]

“Oh it was fine. Set up a safe house with Tali and Tess cleared me for missions.” Selene said as she walked over to the kitchen. She refilled her glass and poured a glass for Clint. “I don’t know about happy this freaking apartment is hot. But I’m glad you stopped by. Here try this Joe said it was something Kinsey brewed. Some new homebrew with an herb she got from Thessia.”

[Clint Cross]

Clint raised an eyebrow when she said 'Thessia'. "Homebrew with Thessian herbs..." he gave her a look. "Eh, screw it." he took a swig and cleared his throat. "Oh that's good... I remember Kinsey mentioning something about it."
