"Although what would really be annoying... he already has all that and knows it by now. But then again, you've always been able to pick up things we've both missed." Nick nudged her arm.

[Alice Ryder]

"Sometimes." Alice said with a shrug.

[Nick Ryder]

"Hey, you figured out the power ratio for the AliceCore... why do you think we named it after you?" Nick raised his eyebrow. "By the way... I just thought of something, how do we know this new Selene and Clint aren't y'know... doing something R rated when we pop in?"

[Alice Ryder]

"We don't know if they're even home." Alice pointed out. "Rommie knows what to do just in case."

[Nick Ryder]

"Yeah... " Nick chuckled lightly. "Let's hope they aren't home... considering you made me leave everything back at the loft... I have no way of checking for sure. Roughing it is gonna be fuuunnnn..."

[Alice Ryder]

"You'll be just fine." Alice reassured him as she squeezed his knee. "I'll be there to distract you."

[Nick Ryder]

"You do a great job of that." Nick said with a smile. "So... how rough is this roughing it going to be? Because I'm too heavy to live in a tree stand again."

[Alice Ryder]

"You'll find out soon enough." Alice said as they turned onto a back road. "I'll tell you once we leave Clint's by then we should be secure enough."

[Nick Ryder]

"You're in Command love." Nick replied. "She who comes up with the plan leads the plan. I'm oddly looking forward to this, insane that it took a damn shuttle crashing through into our living room, but... this is necessary and I'm not breaking us up. Because I know darn well that if I'm involved, I'll be distracted thinking about you and Gale or if something happens to you two and I'm not around, I'll blame myself for the rest of my life. Or... people will continue to think that our marriage was just one for the press and I've been having secret affairs behind your back."

“And everyone will think I’ve left you for someone younger. Remember the article in that one tabloid where they said I left you for Clint.” Alice laughed. “We were trying to find something for Selene. Selene thought it was hilarious but I think Clint ended up just buying her another set of throwing knives.”
