It Ain't Easy...

Old enemies rear their heads, new threats make themselves known, and an old hub of craziness is the center of it all.

"Jack you were in captivity if Dominus had threatened to kill you or screw someone. I'd prefer if you'd screwed them over you dying. Not that I don't enjoy the sentiment."

"Oh he tried to have me screw Walker... but he was kept busy with Kirby... she was his 'Thursday' girl." Jack said with a look of disgust. "I think my sister in law is firmly over men... she likes me but only because I'm 'neutered' so to speak."

“You are strange sometimes my love.” Kinsey said brush his hair from his face lovingly. “Rest now.”

Rebecca appeared looking decidedly worse for wear. Her normally implacable hair was in disarray with bits singed around the edges. Her normally vibrant moss green eyes had an odd dullness to them, but she lived.

"Good job you two," she croaked. "Glad to have you back Jack."

"Hey that rhymed... how long were you waiting to say that?" Jack said with a light chuckle. "Someone is in dire need of a shower and maybe a salon." he noted the singed hair. "Let's agree not to channel and deflect the power of an exploding starbase again for a while? Well not so much exploding as a core going into overload and breaking the station apart. There should be a habitat module floating around somewhere with other survivors. If there was one thing I learned from dad's capture by my counterpart, it was make sure you get the others that no one knows about to safety."

She absently touch her hair, and smiled grimly, "Yeah, let's not do it again." Frowning, "Who's survivors? Ours or his? If it's his I'd just as soon let the bastards rot."

"Ours. Those that were left behind from Starfleet." Jack replied. "I had Kirby and some of my own allies help tag them before we did this... "

"Well, I'm sure Nicholas can handle it. We'll be arriving at the coordinates in a few minutes. The Tigris is already waiting on us. Knowing your father, he's probably angrier than a Terathian wild cat. He'll probably tell us that it was stupid, but in reality... he'll just be jealous that he wasn't here."

"Oh he's probably jealous... still... we did manage to put a massive dent in Dominus' operations. If we really eliminated his threat or just alternate versions of him... it's still going to hurt without a base of operations." Jack said as he sat up a little. "Although he's not out yet... there is a multiverse and it may take a very long time to eliminate all the dark versions of my father."

"Well, don't forget; there's an infinite number of good versions of your father too," she said. Sighing she glanced at the draped form of her master. "We mustn't ever forget that. No matter how bleak it is."
