My older brother Henry joined, and was killed at Wolf 359." She sighed trying to hide her irritation. She handed the file back. "I have been raped, beaten, left for dead, and you bloody think I want anything to do with anyone? As far as I am concerned I am not a princess, or a member of the royal family. My dear sister saw to that when her greed betrayed me. Exposed my freakishness to mother! She wanted to be queen, not me! So, yes I will remain here on Terra Alpha, but as me. This new person that survived, and beat the odds. Not, as your puppet to curry favor with the Royal Family. You want to do me a favor? Tell them I'm dead." She opened the car door. "Good day Mr. Price. I hope we don't meet again."

"You misunderstood..." Jon said as he got out of the car, much to Kassie's non verbal protest, but even she knew better than to argue with him sometimes. He opened the file. "I want nothing of the sort to deal with your sister, honestly... as much of an Englishman as I am, they bloody hung me out to dry just as much as you, that's why I'm here. What's in here, is new identity documents, transcripts, doctored photos, letters of recommendation, even medical records. As far as anyone else is concerned, the Ashley Walker that left England is not the same Ashley Walker that I am talking with now. " he chuckled. "I know alllllll about your sister and she is a royal bitch I am sorry to say. What I meant is... you are free to do whatever you want. This document..." he held it out for her. "This will get you an apartment or a small house anywhere on the planet, just give it to the owner or landlord and we'll take care of things from there. This..." he showed her another document. "Is a letter stating that you have been cleared to serve wherever and however you wish, private sector, military, contractor, whatever... IF you want to use it." he pulled out another sheet. "This account, was set up to fund refugees, it was funded by the Imperium as part of their reparations, there's enough for you to more than live comfortably, not lavishly and luxuriously but comfortably for pretty much the rest of your life. It was intended as a POW thing. You see Miss Walker, I was held captive by Dominus' son Jackson and I watched as my assistant was brutally raped and tortured by Dominus, branded over and over. She made a deal to keep me and the former first lady, Alice, safe from Jackson, but Dominus was about to do the same to the rest of us until we were rescued. I know full well what you went through, Jack told me... he told me in no uncertain words that if I did not take care of you... he would sic his wife on me."

"Then tell him that," she said evenly. "Tell him that I am tucked away, and cozy in a nice little cottage." She handed the file back to him, "And, I will make my own go. For once I want to be in control of my destiny, and I can't do that being dependent on you, or Jack, or anyone else."

"Fair enough, still... take the file. Spend some of the Imperium's money, the rest... whatever you want to do, we will wholly support." Jon replied and extended his hand. "Enjoy your new life Miss Walker... oh and there's a cafe on the north end of town, serves a proper English breakfast and they do a rather nice tea time. My wife and I used to go there every so often, it's like a slice of home, right down to the posh English ladies that have nothing better to do than sit there all day and gossip."

She smiled, "Thank you. But, don't call me. I'll call you. Oh, and never forget my sister is about the power. I wouldn't put it past her to want to rule more than Great Britain. She may even have aspirations of restoring the British Empire."

"That I don't doubt." Jon agreed. "Emperor Kaikoa is trying too hard to be a 'nice guy', he may get steamrolled if he isn't careful. Of course, like the old song went 'who run the world? girls.' Up until recently... my wife did an excellent job running this Alliance but she never did like being the head honcho other than of the office."

Ashley shrugged, "My sister isn't your wife. She's not cruel, and she may or may not be the better leader of Earth. That I cannot say. But, she is ruthless in her goals. You may have to chose between this Imperium and a British Empire."

"I will certainly take that under advisement... and I promise not to push you for information." Jon said with a smile. "If you ever feel like having tea with a fellow Brit, call any time. I truly did not mean to offend you with what I offered you. I do try to help those that have had their lives ripped away from them against their will when I can. I know what it feels like, trust me on that. I also did this privately because I didn't want the public to know. Because honestly I want you to find your own way, without being hounded. Look up 'Price-Cross Tryst' and you'll see what I mean." he shuddered. "I have a supreme dislike for the media... there's a lovely photo of Isabella and I half naked against a window, of course it did have one upside, the sales of the lingerie she was wearing is supporting a colony of war orphans, it's been almost two years and it pays the food bills there."

"Oh bloody hell mate..." Jack said as he walked out of a blue police box. "It's been almost two years... I think Kinsey and I are going to shag in public and then you can shut the bloody hell up about that. How in the world does a man who works in an office has better glutes than I do and I run around playing action hero." he walked over to Walker and handed her a small box. "Not a ring... it's a watch. You had time taken from you. Diamonds and gold, about three hundred years old, keeps perfect time. Hey... I give a shit about my favorite lab assistant. You take care of yourself, of course, unless you want me to drop you somewhere. Time of space... bigger on the inside."

"You are not the Doctor..." Jon said with a shake of his head.

"Close enough." Jack replied with a wink. "The Professor... speaking of which... Naval Academy is looking for instructors. The 203 year old orthopedics instructor passed away while I was gone and our newly hired 37 year old medical history professor got a high paying job with AlphaTek Medical. So Commandant T'Ver is threatening to pull my tenure if I don't teach again and she's requesting someone to replace Professor T'Lora."

"Hey, Jack," she leaned in and pecked him on the cheek. "I'm not much of a teacher, but i'll think about it. I suppose it could be fun."
