"That's right... I don't have an assistant anymore do I?" Nick put his hands in his pockets. "Besides Becki of course, but huh... guess I need to hire someone again." he glanced at the alternate form of his mother.

"Don't look at me, I'm fully intending on finishing my studies so I can officially be Dr. Kellow." Teri said with a smile. "But I suppose I can help out until then... but first... the Emperor and his lovely wife and daughter need to be shown a proper welcome."

"We are at you disposal, you carriage awaits m'lady." Magus winked at Nick and shook his head figuring Nick would think he was speaking literally.

Later that evening --

Teri was sitting at a table in one of the little bars that Nick's padd recommended, sipping a glass of wine as she leaned forward and smiled. "So Empress... doing anything tomorrow? I have this sneaking feeling that your husband is going to be leaving you all alone. We could go shopping, spend some of Nick Ryder's money. I must say, I am greatly enjoying spending time with you and the Emperor."

She frowned and shook her head, "Unfortunately we are returning to Talaria tomorrow. There are things that require the Emperor's attention."

"Oh that's a shame... well then we'll just have to enjoy the time we have left." Teri said with a smile. "Is there anything you two would like to do before you have to get back to business? Doesn't matter how 'silly' you think it might be to ask. I escorted a planetary leader once, he had never had a real ice cream sundae and never had the heart to ask. He came from a rather stuffy people, something so frivolous as ice cream... tut tut..." she gestured with a haughty tone of voice. "But he never had it and I actually took him to one of the little shops near the Academy Quad and he 'slummed it' for a few hours. Found out later on, he passed away not more than a month after that. But he talked about his time there with such happiness. Tell me Emperor Stormtalon... if there was something you've wanted to do that you never did here, that you've wanted to do or try... what would that be? Although let's keep it at least somewhat clean. There is a child in our presence." she teased.

Magus smiled at her, and leaned in conspiratorially, "Talaria is an Alliance core world. We aren't some backwards dung heap. We have ice cream, and Ralph Lauren, and Jimmy Choo... who ever that is." He said with amusement. He was looking accusingly his wife.

"Shoes dear. They make very chic shoes."

"Oh," he said somewhat disappointed. "Well, it's a good thing we're rich. They cost as much as a battleship."

"They do not!" Meeria exclaimed. "But, they are pricey, I won't deny." She extended a foot for Treska to see a fashionable pump. "We do need to get one of Admiral Ryder's boutiques. It really isn't convenient to come all the way out to Terra Alpha for a cocktail dress."

"I know her clothes are gorgeous... I've got some of her originals in the room Nicholas set up for me, including a sewing machine that I bought when I was younger, that apparently my counterpart gave to her. I used to think I made the magic happen behind a sewing machine, but she... wow... " Teri extended her foot. "Vintage Louboutins. I have no idea how they got these from the 20th Century. I guess I'm not the only time traveler." she shook her head. "There were three pairs, this was the only one with the red to black fade, I love red. I worked with a science officer to make the perfect red lipstick shade that matched my uniform, back when Starfleet uniforms were all red. Even had my red hair kind of dyed to be more complimentary to the red in the uniform." she nudged Meeria. "Come by the Compound, I'll see if I can't get you some things to take home. Have to admit, it's lovely that they finally replaced that dreadful Starfleet regulation underwear, I saw drawers and drawers of really nice stuff with a note 'If you replicate the 'old' Starfleet undergarments, try this on and reclaim what you replicated.' It's like heaven... my roommate teased me constantly about never wearing the regulation stuff unless I had to."

"Well, underpants are a human failing," Meeria said. Magus choaked on his beer. Sputtering he squeezed his wife's shoulder. She glanced at her husband and smiled shyly. "I'm sorry for my rudeness."

"We're adults..." Teri said with a sly grin. "And I entirely agree, although when done right, thing of beauty..." she sipped her drink and smiled. "Someday I would love to visit Talaria. Once I get my doctorate sorted out. I was so close to getting my MD back home, but if I'm stuck here, I probably should get up to speed on advances in medical care. From what I heard, your people are even more advanced than the Alliance right?"

"I could talk to the review board. The University of Lemora is one of our top medical schools," Magus said. "They actually like having foreign exchange students. It gives our doctors insight into other cultures, and other cultures get insight into our own. Not to mention medical knowledge is expanded. How many doctors here on Terra Alpha can say they know Narlin Anatomy without consulting a medical database? You could of course stay in the Royal Palace. The ancient building may be 900 years old, but it has modern amenities, and most of the bedrooms are empty. It will be good to see a face that doesn't have demands of my time."
