"It's actually quite a lot of fun when you get into it. I mean I did intend to continue working as an analyst and backup for my wife but my cover as Professor would be helpful. I don't have a rank anymore I kind of saw to that, but I was only a Lieutenant, no big loss there. My two doctorates and my published work is plenty for Academia." Jack replied. "I started out doing more science but I help in the history department and comparative sciences. The Medical school is top notch, I filled in for some of the genetics teachers a few semesters back."

"Hmmm... well, I could interview. I do have a couple of doctorates myself. Might even be able to squeeze in some research."

"Kind of why I originally took the job, wanted to be home more for my kids and still get research in. Didn't want to go entirely private sector yet." Jack said as he handed her a card. "Guest pass for the Academy, check it out, see if you like it. The library is to die for... when they built it, they actually had the contents of four of the best libraries on Earth and Alpha Centauri replicated. There are replicated copies of original DaVinci blue prints and medical diagrams. Kind of why I'm in retro fashion today, heading to the mid 19th Century to get a fresh copy of a couple of old medical texts that all the replicated copies have only 2nd printings of... which omit some of the original notes, purely for historical purposes of course. Brass hates the fact I can time travel easily but don't complain when I bring back 'lost' artifacts. And curiously enough cases of something called Ecto Cooler... I think it tastes like that sugary stuff we give diabetics."

"Okay, Jack. I'll see you later okay?" Ashley smiled, and hugged him. "Unlike the rest of this lot, you can drop by okay?"

"Fair enough." Jon said as he gave her a thumb's up. "Still, if you ever need anything... just ask." he rolled up the window and Kassie pulled off.

"And I will indeed to check in on you. Haven't had professional colleague that actually works on my level." Jack said as he gave her a nod of his head. "I'll make sure our watchers leave you alone, they usually watch the hotel anyway, lot of VIPs stay here. If you do get the job teaching, then you can ask for housing to be part of your contract. I had a lovely four bedroom two bath place before I took sabbatical. Might still be available."
