[Solara]

“You want me to read his mind?” Solara ask in disbelief. “I haven’t taken off the inhibitor since Jack gave it to me. I don’t know the first thing about it not to mention I could kill him! You’re better off waiting for Jack or Kinsey.”

“We haven’t been able to get ahold of them. They’re probably hold up in a cave somewhere again.” Bella said dismissively and sighed. “I’m not asking this of you lightly. I wouldn’t ask it at all except something big is in the works and Mom couldn’t get anything out of him except that he hopped through realities killing different versions of her. You don’t have to do this I’m only asking that you try.”

“I’m not my mother.” Solara said eyeing Bartyn.

“I know.”

“And I’m not like Kinsey.”

“I think you are more then you think.” Bella smirked. “With a bit of Dad thrown in.”

“Fine I’ll try but I won’t you to leave, you are distracting.”

“Thank you.” Isabella said and left pausing long enough to whisper to Jonas. “keep an eye on her.”

[Jonas Calhoun]

"Of course. I never take my eyes off her." Jonas whispered in reply and kept his sidearm in his hand. "What do you think I do when I'm not at the Compound?" he said with a wink.

[Solara]

Bella nodded and the door closed behind her. Solara let out another sigh. What did she just get herself into? She didn’t know where to begin.

“Torture would be easier.” Solara said softly. She still remembered some of the techniques Lucius had taught her for extracting information. Though, employing most would feel awkward using them on a man who looked like her father.

[Jonas Calhoun]

"Scalpel not a hammer." Jonas whispered as he got a little closer to her. "My psi is weak as shit compared to your's but that's what Jack was trying to teach me when he thought maybe I had some potential. Just breathe... if it gets too intense, break it off and give me a signal and we leave. Okay? You're in control here Solara... and you're stronger than you realize."

[Solara]

Solara took a deep breath and activated the mic for their side.

“Who are you?” Solara inquired conversationally as she stepped in front of Barytn’s cell.

[Bartyn]

"Many call me the Ronin, but my name is Bartyn... and who are you little girl?" Bartyn said as he eyed her up. "A bit less polished than the others I've seen so far. Let me guess, another interrogator?"

[Solara]

“Hardly,” Solara replied as she studied him. On first glance it wasn’t hard to mistake him for her father but looking more closely she could see it. Just like she would always be able to tell Jackson and Jack apart. She could see their life in their eyes.

[Bartyn]

"So what are you here for?" Bartyn mused as he looked at her. "Certainly doesn't seem like the Alliance to give me a conjugal visit, so you're not here for that. Oh... I see it now." he nodded his head. "You're a telepath... a real one, not simply another Jase that just 'senses' things, but you can actually get into someone's head. I used to screw a telepath... until i crushed her skull with a brick when she found out things I didn't want her to, but she couldn't help herself."

[Solara]

“What did she find out?” Solara inquired taking a step closer. She still hadn't removed the device blocking her telepathic abilities.

[Bartyn]

"Doesn't matter." Bartyn replied. "So... you think you can handle what's in my head?"
