"Well I didn't say I'd go that far, but I wouldn't mind a bit of a change." Victoria said as she played with one of her rings. "My work with the Ajem, that's about the only thing I've ever really built on my own, not for someone else or with someone else. Governor is fine an' dandy but I still feel like I'm still in Fred's shadow."

[Abbygale Porter]

"You ain't," Abby said. "There's a reason you are governor. Terra Alpha knows you run it fairly. So, do the people there. You may be ajem, but you are smart, and cunning with your power."

[Victoria Underwood]

"Well when you put it that way..." Victoria smiled and held her hand. "That's also why you have the position and respect you have too. Why couldn't I have met you twenty years ago?" she sighed and glanced at the clock on Big Ben that they could see from the window. "Still, even people like us lose elections, we're always one term away from being unemployed. I could think of worse places perhaps to attempt a new start. The new Queen does seem like she'd open to us. We need more governments like this."

[Abbygale Porter]

"Yes, that is interesting. Usually just the suspicion of Ajem sympathies is enough to do irrevocable harm. As far as this upcoming election goes, I have been increasingly thinking I ought to pull out of the race. The Senate no longer holds my interest, and it does seem to be an awful waste of resources."

[Victoria Underwood]

Victoria nodded her head. "It is quite expensive I give you that. So what would you do instead?" she cocked her head slightly. "If we're not going to run we have plenty to live lavishly wherever we please. Which is really pathetic when you think about it. Fred and I amassed a lot of wealth and while I still have more than a lot others, it's only about a third of what we started with. We need to buy a media company, that's where all this election money goes anyway. FNN, ONN, TAN... "

[Abbygale Porter]

"Maybe," Abby said with hesitation, "New Georgia Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Then when the time comes one of us runs for the presidency of the Alliance."

[Victoria Underwood]

"That might not be a bad idea..." Victoria nodded her head and glanced around. "Honestly, I think it was too soon anyway, all people have known has been the Ryder Administration and the man built the Alliance. Even the Price Administration is basically a modified version of all that. They need at least another term or two to either get so entirely sick of the way things are or feel they need 'change' for the sake of change. We were close but really not close enough. I fear even if Fred did win we'd still have a fight the whole time we were in office." she looked around. "I could get used to the UK, change our accents a little, although the tea is nowhere near sweet enough, how ever do they drink this?"

"To be honest I have grown rather fond of this Earl Gray, and of course English and Irish Breakfasts have a wonderful taste, though I still would rather have my morning cup of coffee."

"I know there's a Starbucks around." Victoria said with a wink. "You know..." she put her hand on Abbygale's. "This could work out quite well for us, the Ajem could re-establish itself and Earth is pretty much a blank slate in so many regards, so much of it's being rebuilt. Can set things up now during the rebuild that will last for generations. Only a matter of time before Earth is either a part of the Alliance or there are enough Alliance citizens here that it would be helpful to have a foothold here." she ran her fingers against her smooth skin. "It would be nice to have things running smoothly enough so that when we're tired of politics, we can retire in peace. And I do intend to spend my retirement years with you. Married or not."

"People like us don't usually live long enough to retire," Abby said. "But, it is a nice dream."
