[Angel Ryder]

"Yeah I had a very hard time trying to figure it all out, there's no... rational scientific explanation for it and we're both women of science. Although we're both creatives. And with that, there IS some latitude." Angel said as she ate, giving Trini, Ethan and their 'big sister' a look as , they took their plates and dashed off into the living room to watch cartoons. "Maybe I'm starting to remember what it's like being a child again ever since I had Trinity. You do know why I named her that? As a little girl I was always a 'three in one', part of me was dad, part of me was mom and part of me was what that gestalt created. I hoped that Trinity would embody all that but in one part. Be the best of what we all had to offer. Seeing her adult self as capable as she is, I was right. I met the adult version before I gave birth to the one watching cartoons. We bonded pretty much immediately. I THINK that's why our connection is so strong. We completed each other and heh... my daughter made three."

Looking out the window Angel ate silently before looking at Becca. "When you were pregnant with Aimee, did you ever 'feel' her like... there was an actual dialogue? Like, I see her doing things now, that I know I didn't teach her or have her really see me do, and yet... the kid can do eyeliner like a pro. I usually get made up behind closed doors, been a little ritual of mine since I was like... 12 and mom let me wear some light makeup, used to be just mascara and a little foundation and lip tint, mainly to hide zits and blemishes. But it was my time alone, I'd meditate, psych myself up for the day and then walk out all ready to go and perky. Nathan has never seen me put on more than lipstick. Trinity has never 'seen' me get made up. I know it's silly but... I think everything I 'taught' her when I was pregnant, she remembers. When she falls and hurts herself, I feel something, even when she's not nearby. I could be on a starship and know that she did something. Grandpa Leo teases me that it's 'mom sense' and that Tess used to be that way. But I think there's way more than that."

"No," Rebecca replied. "I wasn't as attuned to my body, and the ijulna when I was pregnant with Aimee. Oh, sure I often had a sense of the outcomes of certain things, though no specifics. Just a knot in the pit of my stomach or an ease when I should be stressed or scared.

"With Ethan things were different. I was connected to him. I still am. We often don't even have to talk to know what the other is thinking."

"When I was pregnant I spent a lot of time just meditating and focusing myself, although that was just around the time the rifts started forming around Terra Alpha so between the pregnancy the way space was pretty funky was making me nauseous." Angel chuckled lightly. "Everyone thought I was crazy having more than one head installed on the Ops deck. Then they realized I was a genius." she put her hand on her stomach. "But I really had a connection with my little one, even before I had her."

"I can see that," Rebecca replied wryly. "That back thing takes that to a whole new level."

"Yeah... although I do get this sense that despite the pain it caused her, she's making the best of it." Angel replied and sipped her tea. "I haven't gotten any intense flashes of pain from her, I even tried to do that thing that Aimee and Olivia somehow managed to do. But I do think she's surrounded by enough Ajem energy that I can't punch through it entirely. Course... I am kind of wondering if this whole Jase vs Ajem thing is going to cause more trouble than its worth."

"What Aimee and Olivia have is incredibly rare. They are the only ones in living memory of the order. Oh sure, I know what Ethan is thinking, but I have to be looking at him. To use the ijulna in that way across light years is something... spectacular. Though, to be fair no one has ever suffered sympathetic wounds in the entire history of the order. It may have happened in the old order long ago in a galaxy far away, but the records and holocrons are incomplete from that era."

"Keep in mind my grandmother's side of the family... did you spend any time around my great uncle Stefan? I could sense something within him that I only sensed in my grandmother during the war when she was fighting invaders." Angel said before taking a forkful of food and taking a moment to chew and swallow and think for a moment. "Jack said his telepathic and limited telekinetic ability is not iljuna but from his birth mother's side. I remember a hushed conversation that Nancy and Noella were somehow related in some 'royal we' way to my grandmother's side of the family. Could be that it's a Siofran thing as much as it is an Iljuna thing, but... it seems like the Iljuna is calling far more than it used to. Or maybe I'm getting more attuned to it, but I sense it in a lot more people, they just need a 'push', perhaps all these realities crossing are altering its nature. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, or... a sign of the end. Universe's way of saving itself."

"It could be. Nature abhors a vacuum, the ijulna is no different. Like water, the ijulna seeks an equilibrium, but that delicate ecosystem has been thrown into disarray."

"What IS interesting is that even former Ajem have 'crossed over' which is really starting to make me wonder if it's the Iljuna's way of balancing it, and then there have been light siders that are going darker or even grey... grey isn't so bad you know. I lived in the grey areas most of my adult life. Only way we beat the Borg a second... and third time, we did a little bad to do a lot of good."

"I never understood what made my friend fall. What made Kat do what she did. I always sensed gray in her, but she never let the darkness out. Sure, she got a thrill over combat. A lot of Marines did. I guess that's what made them Marines and not science officers. But, this new Kat. I don't know. How can you come out of a universe that had an evil version of myself rule, and be anything but dark?"
