Bullet With Angel Wings

[Trinity Talon]

A Few Hours Later --

The small shuttle rocked as it was hit by weapon's fire. Dylan and Trinity managed to evade their torpedoes, but the phasers connected with the hull.

"Well, that was a little quicker than I thought..." Trinity said as she grimaced. "We made good time though, that route was amazing."

"One of the tricks we picked up, there's a warp corridor that cuts the distance considerably between Ferenginar and the rest of the Alpha Quadrant." Dylan replied. "Only a handful really know but... it seems once we dropped out of warp they were on us."

"We'll be okay..." Trinity said as she took the shuttle into a spin and hit one of the following shuttles with a phaser volley. "Just need to make another jump... Dylan..."

"Got it... engaging warp." He reported and the small shuttle shot back into Warp before the Ajem ship could overtake them. "That was close..."

"But we had to get into normal space for a bit." Trinity replied and smiled as she looked at the control panel. "Bussards collected what we need, once we're in the system, I don't care what ship or station we're close to... hail them and tell them to be ready for a transport, because once we get out of warp... we're going to show those Ajem why they shouldn't tailgate us."

[Lehona Sunstrider]

The TAS Erebus, the aging warship, was in orbit of one of the Alliance's new colonies delivering supplies to the newly terraformed world in the Falker System. A six planet system orbiting a red giant along the Alliance border between Terra Alpha and Feriginar.

Captain Lehona Sunstrider glanced over her shoulder as the last runabout lifted off the flight deck and headed to the planetary surface with prefabricated building sections.

"Captain," the operations officer announced. "Sensors are detecting a trans warp corridor one million kilometers off our starboard bow. 025 mark 38."

"Can you identify it?"

"It has an unusual signature. It appears to be a highly modified Ferengi vessel."

Lehona stood, "Open channel. Yellow alert."

"Channel open."

"Unidentified vessel, I am Captain Lehona Sunstrider of the TAS Erebus. You have entered Alliance territory. Drop out of warp and identify yourself."

[Trinity Talon]

"Sunstrider? The hell you doin' out this far?" Trinity replied. "Colonel Trinity Talon and I'm not planning on dropping out of warp for another five seconds... trust me on that Captain." she glanced at the sensors. "But we have hostiles following us. If you'd be so kind as to help us blow the out of the stars, I may not have to turn this shuttle into a warp capable warhead."

"What?!" Dylan looked at Trinity like she was crazy.

"The other ten percent of my plan. It's up to 15%." Trinity teased. "Better than 12% am I right?"

"You're just as crazy as your mother." Dylan shook his head. "Erebus, this is Commander Meat of the 41st Shadow Division. If you can send four quantum torpedoes on the telemetry we're sending you..."

"Pretty please?" Trinity said with a smile. "I'll even throw in a crate of berries for the crew when I get back to the Ranch."

[Lehona Sunstrider]

"Understood. We'll have fighters inbound to your position. Erebus out."


Lehona gripped the arms of her seat, "Red alert. Shields up. Chanrge phaser banks. Fire torpedoes!"

"Torpedoes away," the tactical officer replied.

"Mr. Mayweather, launch Mustang Squadron," she said ro her A-Conn officer.

She nodded and immediately started issuing commands to the flight leaders. "Alpha Flight is underway. Charlie flight is preparing to launch, with Bravo Flight om standby."

[Trinity Talon]

"Alright... that's the support I was hoping for." Trinity said as she looked at Kat. "Pessimist." she teased. "Erebus can be our ride home, Bellatrix's Ajem goon squad would be insane to go up against her."

[Kat Donovan]

"Aye lass. Bellatrix is right. Your people have the 'luck o' the Irish' on your side to be sure. But, we are no out o' the woods yet."

[Trinity Talon]

"We make it out of this, I'm giving my first daughter your name... maybe as a middle name." Trinity said with a thumb's up. "So... Commander Meat." she snickered at the name. "Shall we remind the Ajem'dasis why they don't screw with us?"

"Aye aye Colonel." Dylan said with a smile. "We cut our way to the Erebus and let the fighter squadron rip them to shreds."

[Kalia Lei]

Meanwhile --

Kalia was sitting behind Trinity's desk monitoring traffic around Terra Alpha, hoping that the war games they had scheduled would not have too much civilian traffic to contend with when she saw an alert she set up. The Erebus was engaging someone outside of Alliance space.

"General Talon... I think Trinity may be on her way home." Kalia said as she tapped into the comm logs to find out what was up and saw the communication exchange between Colonel Trinity Talon and the Erebus. "She's in a Ferengi shuttle, heavily modified since it's hanging in a fight way longer than anything Ferengi has a right to be. They're near the edge of Alliance space."

[Ethan Talon]

Ethan laughed for the first time in six months. There was no real humor in it. It waa just a sudden release of tension that he'd been holding in ever since Trinity had been taken. A tension that was barely held in check.

"That sounds like Trinity. She has too much of her grandfather in her. I swear she could rig a paperclip and a rubber band into a warp core."

"Or sweet talk someone into giving her one." Kalia chuckled. "So... I take it the wargames are cancelled now huh? Scramble the Marines?"
