"Still, he's more or less getting them ready to help with remote work. That resort is more sophisticated than I realized. And another reason why he only allows a limited number of people at any one time. Besides the fact that everyone tends to forgo clothing." he winked at his bare wife. "I must say working out together again has done wonders for both of us. I have ab definition again. And you... y'look like a super heroine."

Bella laughed, "Well I wouldn't go that far. My aim is still off but not as bad."

"Better than mine." Jon admitted. "You're just a hair off the bullseye most of the time. My old dart playing mates would be teasing the hell out of me. Although it does make your dad do that funny dance when he wins in our matches." he shook his head and tested the whipped cream. "You and I need to practice more."

"You're a lost cause." Bella said as she stole some of the whipped cream and licked her finger. "But I still enjoy showing you. I just need to get over what happened with Bartyn. I think that's why I'm still missing but it's going to take time."

"Well, we could face the blighter together." Jon suggested. "Obviously I'll look the other way if you want to thrash him around a bit. I think you can take him."

"Didn't go so well last time." Bella said and forced a smile as she felt herself backslide into her depression a bit. "Let's talk about something else like when did you learn to make whipped cream and why we haven't been putting those skills to use?"

"The Chef has been teaching me a few things, surprisingly easy to do. I can even infuse it with booze." Jon said as he scooped some into a piping bag and then prepared the crepes, carefully rolling them and then squiring some of the whipped cream on top after drizzling berries and sauce around them. "That's been what my 2pm meetings have been. Clint mentioned that he found cooking for you and Selene always made you two happier. So... I'm learning. Besides, I like knowing what I'm eating. I only had tea and scones for three days after one of the health experts worried me about us being poisoned. I CAN make my own scones. It's hard being a proper English gentleman without the creature comforts."

“Great another thing to worry about.” Bella said with an eye roll.

"I'm not worried they're worrywarts." Jon said as he leaned over and kissed her on the forehead. "Besides we've been making headway together. I think it's helped tremendously with people knowing we're both on this. Not that anyone will accept Dominus but I think he must realize that sooner than later we're going to make an attempt to stop him and he's not going to last. After all, everyone thought Julie Lei was unstoppable."

“Yeah I had to take a bullet for her and everyone had to think you died.” Bella pointed out. “I don’t think that’s going to work for Dominus.”
