When it Happens (Don't Mind Me)

“Good who else is going to help me make bunny pancakes.” Bella said as he hugged him tightly.

She caught whiff of his cologne and coughed.

“Jeeze Dad really put it on thick this morning.” Bella joked as she started to let him go then stop. She pulled him closer and took another sniff. “Wait…you smell like bourbon and…sex.”

[Clint Cross]

Clint winced and shook his head. "Never could fool that nose." he said as he picked up the bowl of pancake batter and added a few more chocolate chips. "Nothing to worry about. Besides... I don't ask you about your sex life." he glanced over at Jon who was feeding Kaitlyn. "I did meet someone that I had a very enjoyable evening with."

“James, other room. Now.” Bella commanded, her tone even as she clutched the spoon she'd been using to mix the batter with.

[Clint Cross]

"Oh I want to watch this." James said with a grin.

"James..." Clint gave him a look.

"Fine fine..." He put his hands up in defeat. "I'll just feed strawberries to Mac..."

Clint chuckled and shook his head looked at Bella. "If you're going to yell at me, remember who the parent is here."

“You blew me off to go fuck someone.” Bella said raising her voice. “I have every right to be angry. Mom has only been dead for two months and you’re what? Fucking agents now?”

[Clint Cross]

"Not agents, just... agent." Clint replied. "And we hit it off, sort of one thing lead to another."

[Isabella price]

“What am I supposed to be happy for you?” Bella inquired angrily. “What happened to everything you said in the meeting yesterday? You betrayed Mom!”

"Maybe! Look,it just happened." Clint said as he put the bowl down. "Not like you haven't been there... and... it hasn't exactly been easy. Especially at that briefing we had the other day, practically everyone was with someone." he sighed. "I'm sorry I was late, I should have been more aware of the time. And I wasn't lying I was giving her a briefing on the current situation. She's got experience dealing with Scions too."

Bella let out a heavy sigh, “No you’re right your sex life isn’t my business and I do know what it’s like to be alone.”

Bella handed him the spoon so he could stir in the chocolate chips.

“So who is this agent and how do they have experience with the Scions?”

Clint stirred the batter and looked at her. "I shouldn't tell you, call it classified but you're smart, you're my daughter and I wouldn't want to hurt you." he started to drop the batter into the pan and started making the bunny shapes. "She's not from here, but from another reality." he took a deep breath. "It's Selene. Not our Selene, but... a Selene Lanara that was tasked with guarding Tali. I know... I know... it's fucked up. And she's not your mother but... we clicked. Like we always did. Reminded me of five years ago when we first met. Even gave me the same 'if you're messing with me, I'll kill you'" he spatula'd off the first bunny and flipped it onto a plate. "I can see your eyes boring into my skull."
