Around Every Corner

[Liara]

“Great! You can put it on the coffee table. I’ll get some wine glasses.” Selene said smiling at him over her shoulder as she walked towards the kitchen area. Knowing he couldn’t take his eyes off her if only he knew what she had on underneath.

[Clint Cross]

Clint smiled and started to set up things on the plates he had brought with him. "So I bumped into Tali'zorha on the way up, sounds like everything went well. I won't ask where you're going to set up a safe house, but if you're looking at the warehouse district... uhm... don't. Everyone's sort of got something there."

[Liara]

“Well the whole point of a safe house is for you to not know about it.” Selene pointed out as she popped the cork on the wine bottle and filled the glasses. “The challenge will be ensuring they aren’t a place Selene Cross would go. Did she by chance have a nickname or should I go by something else? Is it confusing having us both called Selene?”

[Clint Cross]

"Well when she was with our Lucius, or her Lucius, she came from another reality, she went by various forms of Natasha. The version of you... Abigail Singh, was still in a stasis pod all these centuries, Lincoln, her old partner was trying to kill us, but hit the girl instead. We did have a few back up call signs for her as well since Black Widow sounds fuckin' scary to a lot of people." Clint said and chuckled. "Hot Sauce. That was one of mine for her. We were still dating, we came back from a mission, ordered some crappy carry out and watched a crappy movie, woke up and she had a hot sauce packet, unopened thankfully, on her butt."

[Liara]

Selene laughed, “I’ll just call her Selene Cross. Hot Sauce would sound far to strange coming from me and giving the history behind Natasha I think it’s best we didn’t.”

[Clint Cross]

"Course her father's new wife is... Natalia Ryder. Who's parents named her baby sister... wait for it... Natasha. And Kinsey's foster family when she came to the Federation... her foster sister is... Nat as well. So there are way too damn many Natashas, Natalias and Nat's around. You're still unique being Selene. We did have plenty of people call her Selina but we joked 'that was the OTHER catsuited wonder... "

[Liara]

“Then Selene it is.” Selene said with a smile as she handed him a glass of wine.

[Clint Cross]

"Thanks." Clint said as he took the wine and smiled as he took a sip. "So there is a lot of food here, figured you could take a bit of everything, try them all out." he gestured to the covered containers and looked at her. "Then we can work it all off..."

[Liara]

“Great idea.” Selene said and smiled seductively at him. “If you thought the dress was something just wait until you see what’s underneath.”

[Clint Cross]

"Can't wait." Clint said as he used the tongs on some noodles. "I have been looking forward to this all day, actually for the past month... felt weird not being able to try this without my favorite dinner companion. Then you show up. And having never tried it before, even better." he looked into her eyes. "I truly think this is the start of something great for us both. And I can promise you that life will never be truly boring. Sure we'll have lulls here and there but you're going to have the time of your life."
