[Liara]

"I'm sure it had everything to do with the fact he didn't call ahead." Selene said sarcastically.

[Clint Cross]

"My grown daughter's boyfriend over for a 'booty call' oh yeah you better believe I came out armed." Clint chuckled. "Nah, Eli was fine. But there's enough threats out there that I'm never more than a few feet away from something. You'll come to love buffer bands. Unless you forget to put your weapons back into the band or reload it with fresh ammo and such. Since it's just a tiny transport buffer, it's not a replicator and it's not limitless. I usually keep a few fully loaded ones everywhere. One on the wrist and at least one in my utility belt." he slapped his forehead. "And i'm an idiot." he went into his desk and rummaged around. "Here. It's the hardware lock for Intel gear." he handed her two small silver ring with circuitry around the band. "I'm not proposing, but this usually gets hidden under your gloves. It's for your guns. Only you or someone with a ring can fire them. Helps when bad guys pick up our dropped weapons. We tried biometrics, but a ring is easier and doesn't require sizing up the guns. That would have been embarrassing. I give you new weapons and you can't use them."

[Liara]

"They still would have been useful just not the way the were designed to be." Selene said as she slipped the ring on. "We should probably get changed, rescue this guy, and then you're going to slow strip for me Hawkeye."

[Clint Cross]

"Yes ma'am." Clint said and put his hand on the small of her back. "Locker room is right over there, already got Lanara on your locker."

[Liara]

"Good." Selene said with a smile as she walked towards it. "Maybe this new suit will surprise you."

About thirty minutes later she emerged from the locker room dressed in the new suit Clint had given her. It was vast improvement upon what she had been use to. Flexible and breathable he’d really put a lot of thought into the design of it.

“Well?” Selene inquired as she slowly turned in a circle.

[Clint Cross]

Clint took in every inch of her and he was glad that Mac wasn't nearby...

"That looks great... how's it feel? Took us a few versions to get to a suit that wouldn't tear so easily and still give as much movement as possible. Selene always hated how her old suits would creak and squeak, normal people couldn't hear it, but an augment could, while still giving you protection from blades, slugs, and body blows." Clint said as he opened his jacket. "Same stuff in my suit too, although I like to have bare arms, this feels as close to bare as possible. It's like being naked but you're still fully protected." he pointed out a spot on her belt. "Listen..." he wiggled her gun belt. "No jingling."

[Liara]

“You thought of everything.” Selene said looking into his eyes. “How quickly does it come off?”

[Clint Cross]

"Much easier than your original suit." Clint whispered. "I remember the hassle she had with the suit I met her in. That thing looked great, but took her a little longer to put on than she preferred." he cocked his head as they walked to the motor pool. "Once she knew she was working with us we kept developing new suits, each version getting more and more comfortable and more protective. Oh and you can charge your bites through the whole suit, so if someone gets you in a bear hug, you can redirect it through the suit and shock the hell out of 'em. Or through points on your boots. She kicked some guy in the balls with the last version.. poor dude didn't know what hit him. Completely scrambled him. Woke up hours later wondering why his nuts were still throbbing."

[Liara]

Selene laughed, “I like it.”

[Clint Cross]

Clint smiled as they approached the armored SUV they were going to take into the field. "There's a couple of bikes in the back if we need them." he unlocked the door with a fob and climbed in. "It has a transport system built in too, so we can park away from our target site and securely beam in and out, or take the bikes but this should be an in and out. Take out the Scions, get the target and get back here and then figure out if we put our high value target into a safe house or take him back to the office. Or the hospital."
