The Way Out is Through

[Clint Cross]

Clint shook his head. "Well, if you did, then we may have had the wrath of Bellatrix on us sooner than we'd like... but yeah... never easy to kill a kid, Sure it's 'easy' but... I'm still haunted by a couple of them. Kind of why I got a soft spot for them." he sighed. "C'mon, let's head back... I think we're going to need to debrief after all this, and I want to know more about what they were building." he gestured to the crates in the back.

[Liara]

It gets easier with the right motivation, Selene thought darkly as she took one last look at the building than climbed into the SUV.

[Clint Cross]

Clint sped out of the area as the building collapsed on itself and then a dull 'thump' as it finished imploding. "Well that was still a mission accomplished, we got our target, we got some more intel, we found a new player in the game and we got booty."

[Liara]

"That we did." Selene said as she looked out the car window. "So that's what you would call a successful mission?"

[Clint Cross]

"Any mission we walk away from alive and with our objectives met... as successful. Was it wildly successful... maybe more if we got that kid out of that situation but given what Bellatrix and Dominus are capable of, they may have backfired on us too. So who knows... still... I'm impressed by what you did."

[Liara]

"I was reckless and I let the girl get to me.” Selene said softly as she looked out the window. "There was a time when that wouldn’t have been taken lightly.”

[Clint Cross]

"Well, if you didn't... you may not have put a seed of doubt in her head about what her parents are feeding her." Clint said and put up two fingers. "And second, your restraint showed her that even an assassin can have compassion. I wouldn't count her out." he put his hand on Selene's hand. "I'm kinda proud of you really."

[Liara]

Selene looked at him for a moment surprised by his words.

“No one has ever told me that before.” Selene admitted.

[Clint Cross]

"Glad I was the first to say them." Clint replied as he slowed down and took a more relaxed route back to the office. "Seriously though, if this pays off in the end, it'll be because of you who planted that seed. If I did it, at least initially it would just be because I was looking for a new intel source, but with you... you knew what she was going through. You lived what she was going through. And for the record... I would have been fine having a 'stray'."

[Liara]

“One not enough.” Selene inquired with a small smirk.
